Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Full Time Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with expertise in chairside support, patient care, and administrative coordination. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a thorough understanding of dental procedures, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.</li><li>Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners are ready for use.</li><li>Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations.</li><li>Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding.</li><li>Provide excellent patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy.</li><li>Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.</li><li>Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation.</li><li>Assist with medical imaging procedures when necessary and ensure all clinical activities adhere to established protocols for anatomy knowledge and infection prevention.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is required, with familiarity in general dentistry practices being essential.</li><li>Proficiency with dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and managing dental terminology is necessary.</li><li>Experience using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred; familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is advantageous.</li><li>Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures is critical for maintaining compliance with health standards.</li><li>Background in pediatric dentistry or experience working with pediatric patients is desirable to effectively support young patients&rsquo; needs.</li><li>Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and the ability to handle medical records accurately is essential.</li><li>Certification in radiography or X-ray technology along with knowledge of 3D scanning technology will be considered an asset.
