About DIFF WORKSDIFF WORKS is a creative studio and education hub rooted in Oakland. We run youth workshops that build real-world creative skills and open doors to careers in media and production.About the RoleWe're hiring a Teaching Assistant for our summer youth filmmaking workshop. You'll work alongside our lead instructor supporting two groups: 10 elementary kids (Mon/Wed/Fri) and 10 teens (Mon/Wed). The TA is on site all 3 days.Students will direct and produce their own original short films from start to finish. The workshop wraps with a mini film festival where students screen their films for family and friends.Responsibilities<ul><li>Co-facilitate sessions and support classroom management for both age groups</li><li>Teach filmmaking fundamentals: shot types, framing, lighting, and audio</li><li>Help students develop their film ideas, storyboards, and shot lists</li><li>Support and coach students hands-on during shoots</li><li>Edit students' final film projects using Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere</li><li>Assist with equipment, logistics, and the end-of-workshop film festival</li><li>Coordinate with DIFF WORKS staff on planning and documentation</li></ul>Schedule<ul><li>Monday: Elementary + Teens</li><li>Wednesday: Elementary + Teens</li><li>Friday: Elementary only</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Strong knowledge of videography and video production principles. This is a must.</li><li>Understanding of shot composition, lighting, and audio recording</li><li>Proficient in Final Cut Pro and/or Adobe Premiere</li><li>Experience working with youth in a classroom or workshop setting</li><li>Good classroom management and communication skills</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience with Final Cut Pro and/or Adobe Premiere</li><li>Familiarity with DJI drones or DJI Osmo Pocket cameras</li><li>Background in film, media arts, or youth education</li></ul>Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hourApplication Question(s):<ul><li>Do you have experience with drone operation or DJI equipment?</li><li>How often do you shoot and edit video content?</li></ul>Language:<ul><li>English (Required)</li></ul>Location:<ul><li>Richmond, CA 94805 (Preferred)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Richmond, CA 94805 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
