This position offers a rewarding opportunity to engage in person-centered care while fostering a positive environment for clients with developmental disabilities, dementia, autism, or other health challenges.Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts.</li><li>Administer medication and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans and medical directives.</li><li>Support clients with memory care needs such as Alzheimer&rsquo;s or dementia by implementing behavior management strategies and engaging in therapeutic activities.</li><li>Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist with feeding when necessary.</li><li>Document care activities accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and update care plans regularly.</li><li>Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces.</li><li>Drive clients to appointments or outings safely while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.</li><li>Respond promptly to emergencies by applying first aid skills and following established protocols.</li><li>Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, case managers, and family members to coordinate comprehensive care.</li><li>Manage conflict situations with patience and effective communication to ensure a peaceful environment for clients.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home care, or with individuals with disabilities is highly preferred.</li><li>Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and patient confidentiality standards is essential.</li><li>Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks such as transferring residents using Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills to connect empathetically with clients from diverse backgrounds including those with autism or developmental disabilities.</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license and clean driving record for transportation duties.</li><li>Certification in CPR/First Aid is required; additional certifications such as dementia or Alzheimer&rsquo;s care are advantageous.</li><li>Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately while demonstrating flexibility in dynamic environments.</li><li>Excellent conflict management skills coupled with patience, compassion, and professionalism.
