Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Bilingual Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team! If you thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about making a difference in patients&rsquo; lives, we want to hear from you!Duties<ul><li>Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately.</li><li>Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to support diagnostic processes.</li><li>Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by explaining steps clearly in both languages to reduce anxiety and improve cooperation.</li><li>Support clinical staff with tasks including medication administration, specimen collection, X-ray assistance, and basic life support (BLS) procedures.</li><li>Document patient encounters thoroughly using medical terminology and ICD coding to ensure precise record-keeping for billing and treatment continuity.</li><li>Assist with inpatient and outpatient care across various departments such as geriatrics, internal medicine, medical-surgical units, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), and Level I/II trauma centers.</li><li>Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols specific to emergency medicine and hospital medicine settings.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in settings such as dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or outpatient clinics.</li><li>Bilingual fluency in English and another language (e.g., Spanish) is required; exceptional communication skills are essential for effective patient service.</li><li>Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, ICD coding, and basic pharmacology is necessary for accurate documentation and patient care.</li><li>Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as X-ray tech or OR experience are highly desirable.</li><li>Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support tasks including intake processing, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification.</li><li>Experience working within hospital environments&mdash;particularly Level I or Level II trauma centers&mdash;and understanding of emergency medicine protocols is advantageous.</li><li>Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced inpatient or outpatient settings while maintaining attention to detail and compassionate patient interactions.
