We're a fast-growing CPG beverage company looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to keep our books clean and our financials accurate. This is a part-time remote role averaging about 80-120 hours per month, with occasional visits to an office.You'll be owning day-to-day bookkeeping functions and working closely with our team to make sure everything is reconciled, categorized correctly, and reported on time.What You'll Do<ul><li>Manage all AP and AR functions end-to-end</li><li>Process payroll accurately and on schedule via Gusto</li><li>Maintain and reconcile accounts in QuickBooks Online</li><li>Ensure all transactions are properly categorized in QB</li><li>Process and manage vendor payments through Bill.com</li><li>Track and reconcile employee expenses via Zoho</li><li>Run standard QB reports including P&amp;Ls, balance sheets, and cash flow statements</li><li>Own month-end close, including full reconciliation of all accounts</li><li>Track and reconcile sales across all channels including DTC/ecomm, retail, and distributor separately</li><li>Reconcile all bank accounts and credit cards monthly</li><li>Reconcile 3PL/warehouse reports against QB inventory records</li><li>Track and remit sales tax across all states where we sell</li><li>Manage and reconcile inventory and COGS</li><li>Process and reconcile co-packer invoices</li><li>Manage trade deductions, chargebacks, and trade spend (MCBs, off-invoice allowances, promotions) from retailers and distributors</li><li>Prepare 1099s for all applicable contractors and vendors</li><li>Enforce expense approval workflows before processing any payments</li><li>Support tax prep by pulling and organizing requested documents for our external tax agency</li><li>Serve as the internal point of contact for all bookkeeping and accounting functions</li><li>Help build and improve financial processes and workflows as we scale</li><li>Flag discrepancies and escalate financial issues to leadership as needed</li><li>Keep financial records organized and audit-ready</li></ul>What We're Looking For<ul><li>7+ years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in CPG, food &amp; bev, or a product-based business</li><li>Expert-level QuickBooks Online skills (certification is a plus)</li><li>Hands-on experience with Bill.com and Gusto (or similar platforms)</li><li>Strong understanding of AR, AP, payroll, and general bookkeeping principles</li><li>Detail-obsessed and organized, you catch errors before they become problems</li><li>Self-starter who can work independently with minimal oversight</li><li>Strong communicator who can flag issues clearly and proactively</li><li>Based in Southern California and able to come into the office occasionally</li></ul>Nice to Have<ul><li>Experience supporting a growing startup or small business</li><li>Familiarity with CPG-specific financials (COGS, inventory, trade spend, etc.)</li><li>Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field</li></ul>Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hourWork Location: Hybrid remote in Oceanside, CA 92052
