BOOKKEEPER &ndash; GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTINGPlano, TX | Hybrid ScheduleGrowing public accounting firm specializing in government accounting for small municipalities and special districts seeks a motivated, detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant to manage assigned districts and attend board meetings.Includes local travel throughout the Metroplex and occasional evening board meetings.RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but not limited to)&middot; Bank and general ledger reconciliations&middot; Accounts payable processing and check preparation&middot; Journal entries and monthly financial reports&middot; Annual budgets and budget vs. actual reporting&middot; Payroll entries and quarterly/annual payroll tax filings&middot; Investment tracking and monitoring&middot; Attend and present financial reports at board meetings&middot; Professional communication with board members, consultants, and vendorsQUALIFICATIONS&middot; 3&ndash;5 years bookkeeping or accounting experience&middot; Strong AP and GL reconciliation experience&middot; Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, Excel, and Outlook&middot; Ability to learn quickly and work independently&middot; Proactive, detail-oriented, strong work ethic&middot; Team-oriented with professional communication skills&middot; Valid driver&rsquo;s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance requiredPREFERRED&middot; Government/municipal accounting experience&middot; Accounting degree&middot; Public accounting experience&middot; Prior experience/ability to professionally present reports to small groupsBENEFITS&middot; Flexible hours (35&ndash;45 hours/week average)&middot; Hybrid schedule (approximately 60&ndash;70% remote)&middot; Competitive salary&middot; Paid holidays and vacation&middot; Retirement plan&middot; Health insurance (50% employer paid), dental, visionLife, short-term, long-term disability, accident insuranceJob Type: Full-timePay: $57,000.00 - $69,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Disability insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Tuition reimbursement</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Plano, TX 75075
