Accounting Clerk Job SummaryThe Accounting Clerk supports the finance and accounting department by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks related to financial record-keeping, data entry, and reporting. This role ensures financial data is accurate, up-to-date, and in compliance with company policies and procedures.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process in the general ledger</li><li>Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoices, payments, and reconciliations</li><li>Verify the accuracy of invoices and other financial documents</li><li>Reconcile bank statements and assist with month-end and year-end close procedures</li><li>Prepare and issue checks, ACH payments, and wire transfers as directed</li><li>Maintain organized and accurate financial filing systems (physical and digital)</li><li>Assist in the preparation of financial reports, summaries, and statements</li><li>Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding billing and account information</li><li>Support audits by providing requested documentation and records</li><li>Assist with payroll processing and expense report reviews as needed</li><li>Perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy</li></ul>QualificationsEducation<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required</li><li>Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>1&ndash;2 years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical finance role preferred</li></ul>Skills &amp; Competencies<ul><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel</li><li>Experience with accounting software QuickBooks preferred</li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills</li><li>Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (debits, credits, GAAP basics)</li><li>Ability to handle confidential information with discretion</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment</li></ul>Working Conditions<ul><li>Full-time, in-office schedule</li><li>Standard business hours; occasional overtime during month-end or year-end close</li><li>Sedentary role with extended periods of computer use</li></ul>Compensation<ul><li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience</li><li>Benefits package including health, dental, vision, PTO, and 401(k)</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Physical Setting:<ul><li>Office</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>QuickBooks: 1 year (Required)</li><li>Accounting: 1 year (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
