Our Sr. Staff Accountant will support EDG&rsquo;s financial operations, reporting directly to the Assistant Controller. This position will be primarily responsible for general accounting duties, including billing/invoicing, managing accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, month-end closings, and financial reporting.Key Responsibilities: &middot; Ensure accurate and timely billing of clients, and management of accounts receivable.&middot; Lead collection efforts for past-due accounts (communication and coordination with clients).&middot; Communication and coordination with Project Managers to conduct monthly billing review process.&middot; Communication and coordination with EDG staff to complete/finalize timesheets.&middot; Manage and reconcile transactional and resource management data to facilitate billing and reporting.&middot; Assist with the resolution of discrepancies in financial records and reports.&middot; Assist with project-related contract management, including change orders and contract amendments.&middot; Support project close-out procedures, ensuring all financial obligations are met.&middot; Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.&middot; Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.Requirements:&middot; Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.&middot; 6-10 years of experience in a billing coordinator and/or staff accounting role&middot; Experience with executing the billing/invoicing function at a professional services firm that bills time.&middot; Understanding of the end-to-end workflow regarding billing for time.&middot; Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).&middot; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.&middot; Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.&middot; Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.&middot; Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.&middot; Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a commitment to accuracy and quality.&middot; CPA certification or progress towards certification is a plus.Benefits:EDG offers a competitive benefits package, 401k match, company-sponsored events and activities, generous PTO and &ldquo;bonus&rdquo; days off, professional development programs - and much more!Job Type: Full-timePay: $110,000.00 - $115,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Work from home</li></ul>Application Question(s):<ul><li>Please walk me through the full process of end to end billing ownership.</li><li>Have you worked in a firm that bills hourly by timesheet?</li><li>Have you partnered with Project Managers on billing review?</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in New York, NY 10023
