Position SummaryElo Roofing is seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Director to lead, develop, and manage all aspects of the Company&rsquo;s safety program. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, reducing risk, and fostering a culture of safety excellence across all roofing operations.The ideal candidate will have strong field experience in construction or roofing safety and hold certifications such as CHST, CSP, and/or OSHA 510/500 (or equivalent).Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Program Leadership<ul><li>Develop, implement, and continuously improve company-wide safety policies and procedures including other Skyline brands/companies.</li><li>Lead the company&rsquo;s safety culture through training, communication, and accountability</li><li>Establish measurable safety goals and track performance (TRIR, EMR, incident rates)</li></ul>Compliance &amp; Risk Management<ul><li>Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations</li><li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of roofing-specific safety requirements (fall protection, ladder safety, PPE, etc.)</li><li>Manage OSHA inspections, citations, and corrective actions</li><li>Maintain OSHA logs and required reporting</li><li>Interface directly with OSHA representatives</li></ul>Training &amp; Development<ul><li>Design and deliver safety training programs for field crews, supervisors, and management</li><li>Conduct toolbox talks, onboarding safety orientation, and ongoing education</li><li>Mentor Site supervisors on enforcing safety policies and best practices</li><li>Manage training programs (OSHA 10/30 and beyond)</li><li>Field Safety Oversight</li><li>Perform regular job site inspections and audits</li><li>Oversee fall protection systems and enforcement</li><li>Identify hazards and implement corrective measures</li><li>Partner with project managers and superintendents to ensure safe work planning</li></ul>Incident Management&middot; Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans&middot; Maintain accurate records of injuries, near misses, and safety metrics&middot; Coordinate with insurance providers and manage workers&rsquo; compensation claimsLeadership &amp; Collaboration&middot; Collaborate with Operations, HR, Sales and Leadership teams to integrate safety into all business processes&middot; Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters&middot; Promote a &ldquo;zero incident&rdquo; mindset throughout the organizationQualificationsRequired&middot; 5+ years of safety leadership experience in construction or roofing&middot; Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards&middot; Proven experience developing and implementing safety programs&middot; Ability to influence and lead teams in a fast-paced field environmentCertifications (Preferred / Required Mix)&middot; CHST (Construction Health &amp; Safety Technician) &ndash; preferred&middot; CSP (Certified Safety Professional) &ndash; highly preferred&middot; OSHA 510 and/or OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer &ndash; Required&middot; Additional certifications (first aid/CPR, fall protection, competent person) a plusKey Competencies&middot; Leadership and cultural influence&middot; Risk assessment and hazard recognition&middot; Communication and training skills&middot; Problem-solving and incident investigation&middot; Attention to detail and documentationPhysical &amp; Work Environment&middot; Frequent travel to job sites&middot; Some travel outside of Jacksonville to markets where Skyline operates other brands.&middot; Ability to work in outdoor conditions and at heights when needed&middot; Occasional lifting, climbing, and use of PPEWhy Join Elo Roofing&middot; Opportunity to build and lead a best-in-class safety program&middot; Strong leadership support for safety initiatives&middot; Growth-oriented and team-driven culturePay: From $75,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>People with a criminal record are encouraged to applyWork Location: In person
