Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Develops an engineering scope of work, recommends equipment selections, and other pre-construction activities.</li>
<li>Mechanical designs for central chiller plants, package units, split systems, air handling units, variable refrigerant volume units and other mechanical systems</li>
<li>Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.</li>
<li>Prepares preliminary (redline) design layouts for estimating.</li>
<li>Responsible for the quality of work produced by third party engineering consultants.</li>
<li>Participates in conceptual design for specific projects.</li>
<li>Performs site inspections to verify equipment selection.</li>
<li>Performs calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, pipe and duct sizing, friction loss calculations, etc.</li>
<li>Works with our team of Project Managers throughout project design and construction</li>
<li>Perform Heating, Cooling Load Calculations and Title 24 Compliance calculations.</li>
<li>Prepares and delivers client presentations.</li>
<li>Help to develop, write, and review client proposal documents including financial and technical sections.</li>
<li>Interacting in a professional manner with other EMCOR/Mesa departments (ie. Operations, chiller teams, project management, service etc.)</li>
<li>Demonstrate a personal commitment to your growth and development.</li>
<li>Other duties and special projects as directed.</li>
</ul>
Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)
<ul>
<li>BS in Mechanical Engineering required.</li>
<li>Professional Engineering license required.</li>
<li>CEM, highly preferred</li>
<li>10+ years&rsquo; experience in HVAC Design/construction</li>
<li>Extensive design experience with chilled water central plants.</li>
<li>Knowledge of OSHPD/HCAI codes is a plus.</li>
<li>Independent decision making is required.</li>
<li>Computer skills using MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, and Adobe Acrobat.</li>
<li>Knowledge of AutoCAD MEP or Revit</li>
<li>Experienced with Mechanical Codes and Energy Efficiency Standards</li>
<li>Experience with energy efficiency, developing or supporting performance-based projects or energy services.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple deadlines.</li>
<li>Ability to write technical proposals and reports.</li>
<li>Strong customer presentation skills and a demonstrated sales aptitude.</li>
<li>Financial acumen, inclusive of cost modeling for sales proposals.</li>
<li>Experience in developing technical and cost proposals.</li>
<li>Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.</li>
<li>Must be capable of making autonomous decisions based on experience and project requirements.</li>
<li>Must be able to manage multiple projects at any given time.</li>

Compensation Range: $136,000 - $160,000 per year

Job Summary

Shambaugh is looking for a Senior Fire Protection Designer. You will be responsible for designing layouts using AutoCAD/HydraCAD and creating hydraulic calculations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Responsible for design and the layout of Fire Sprinkler systems</li>
<li>Read, analyze and interpret contract documents, including all disciplines of construction drawings and specifications</li>
<li>Write, plan, coordinate and make presentation to individuals and groups</li>
<li>Work with and comprehend mathematical concepts including hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis</li>
<li>Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction</li>
<li>Provide fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, AutoSprink, and Revit</li>
<li>Responsible for BIM modeling and field surveying</li>
<li>Provide lists for fabrication and coordinate between the trades</li>
<li>Other duties assigned</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred. Examples include: Architectural, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management Degrees</li>
<li>Strong analytical, critical thinking and mathematical aptitude, with attention to detail</li>
<li>Good working knowledge of hydraulic calculations and ability to read and understand blueprints</li>
<li>Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities under time constraints</li>
<li>Flexible to be available as needed to travel to client sites</li>
<li>Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required</li>
