About the Program 
The Home-Based Crisis Intervention (HBCI) Program provides intensive, short-term crisis intervention 
and family education services for children ages 5&ndash;20. The goal: to stabilize acute psychiatric crises and 
prevent hospitalization. In partnership with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, our 
mobile, in-home team delivers services including crisis response, treatment planning, psychoeducation, 
therapy, case management, and community referrals.

Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of the HBCI program</li>
<li>Lead team clinical and organizational meetings</li>
<li>Provide direct clinical supervision and case consultation to staff</li>
<li>Conduct side-by-side field visits and regular one-on-one supervision</li>
<li>Cover cases temporarily when needed due to staffing changes</li>
<li>Represent the program at community functions and maintain ongoing outreach</li>
<li>Collaborate closely with the Program Director for quality assurance and strategic planning</li>
</ul>
Core Competencies:
<ul>
<li>Crisis intervention and de-escalation</li>
<li>Mental health and trauma screening, including:
<ul><li>ACES, UCLA PTSD Reaction Index, Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale</li>
<li>Safety planning (e.g., Stanley-Brown) and risk assessments</li>
<li>Substance use screening, including SBIRT</li>
<li>Family psychoeducation and supportive clinical models</li>
<li>Coordination within multi-system, cross-agency networks</li>
</ul></li><li>Evidence-informed practices, such as:
<ul><li>Motivational Interviewing</li>
<li>System of care approaches for complex family needs</li>
</ul>
</li></ul>Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>NYS licensure as one of the following:
<ul><li>Psychologist, LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LMHC, or LCAT</li>
</ul></li><li>Bilingual in Spanish required</li>
<li>Valid NYS Drivers license required</li>
<li>Familiarity with mental health assessment tools and electronic health records</li>
<li>Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry software</li>
<li>Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills</li>
<li>Deep compassion, empathy, and a commitment to family-centered care</li>
<li>Some local travel required in south Queens to client homes and community sites</li>
