Job Purpose:</b></div><div>
A Design Engineer III will be responsible for oversight of substation engineering and consulting services for clients across the US and internationally. They will work and lead multi-disciplined project teams to create industry leading designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of projects including transmission &amp; distribution, generation, institutional, industrial, and manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Develop conceptual designs, execution plans, cost estimates, and project schedules for project proposals.</li><li>
Work with customers to develop project and site-specific design scope documents
</li><li>Execution of engineering activities such as:</li><li><ul><li>
Physical substation design including yard layouts, plans, sections and details, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC/DC power systems, and associated bills of material</li><li>
Protection and control design including panel arrangements, one lines/single lines, three lines, AC schematics, DC elementaries, equipment wiring and relay panel wiring</li><li>
Calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lightning protection, AC/DC load studies, etc.)</li><li>
Equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing</li></ul></li><li>
Lead coordination of design activities with other groups (Civil/Structural, SCADA, System Protection, Transmission Line, etc.)</li><li>
Suggest process, tools and/or technology implementations</li><li>
Provide leadership, training and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members</li><li>
Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel</li><li>
Perform quality reviews for other engineers and designers</li><li>
Provide short term field support during construction</li><li>
Support business development and marketing initiatives</li><li>
Interest or active participation in professional technical committees
</li><li>All other duties as assigned</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited program</li><li>
Minimum 4 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience)</li><li>
Professional Engineer registration preferred</li><li>
Proficiency with National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code and IEEE / ANSI Standard</li><li>
Strong preference for those with:<ul><li>
Excellent written &amp; verbal communication skills</li><li>
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>
Capability of solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard approaches, techniques, procedures and criteria</li></ul></li><li>

Job Purpose:</b></div><div>
An Electrical Engineer III/IV/V will be responsible for project development and execution of delivery systems engineering and consulting services for clients across the US. They will work on and lead multi-disciplined project teams, creating industry-leading designs for new builds, upgrades, and redevelopments on various projects, including substations, delivery systems, renewable generation, and institutional and industrial facilities. This position will influence the future of the resiliency and reliability of the electric grid.</div><div><br>
</div>Responsibilities:<br>
<p></p><ul><li>
Develop conceptual designs, execution plans, cost estimates, and project schedules for project proposals.</li><li>
Work with customers developing project and site-specific design scope documents, specifications, and contract documents.
</li><li>Lead in the execution of engineering activities such as:</li><li><ul><li>
Physical systems design, including substations, delivery systems (lines and cable systems), utilization systems, and renewable energy production systems.</li><li>
Protection and control design, including relay settings.</li><li>
SCADA system development, specification, execution, and commissioning.</li><li>
Equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing.</li><li>
Model development and studies, including data collection and analysis.</li><li>
Contract development, equipment specification and evaluation, bidding, and review processes.</li><li>
Project management activities include budget development, scheduling, and project tracking/reporting.</li></ul></li><li>
Lead coordination of design activities with other internal/external disciplines.</li><li>
Lead process, tools and/or technology implementations.</li><li>
Develop and provide training.</li><li>
Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel.</li><li>
Perform quality reviews for other projects.</li><li>
Provide input into employee performance reviews.</li><li>
Provide field support during construction.</li><li>
Support business development and marketing initiatives.</li><li>
Participate in industry events or professional technical committees.
</li><li>All other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.</li><li>
Minimum 5/10/15 years related experience with progressive responsibilities.</li><li>
Professional Engineer registration required.</li><li>
Proficiency with the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, and IEEE / ANSI Standards<ul><li>
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot in the field is desired.</li><li>
Capability of solving complex problems requires adapting and modifying standard approaches, techniques, and procedures.</li></ul></li><li>
