Job SummaryWe are expanding our engineering department and are seeking a highly motivated and experienced R&amp;D Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As an R&amp;D Mechanical Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for product research, development, testing, and the innovation of new and existing products, as well as building prototypes.A successful candidate will possess excellent mechanical and fabrication knowledge, with the ability to operate a lathe or milling machines, a proven track record of project management and execution, a strong communication and organizational skills, and a solid understanding of engineering principles. Proficiency in SolidWorks modeling, single parts, sub-assemblies, complex assemblies, and drawing creation is required. AutoCAD 2D knowledge is a plus but not required.Duties<ul><li>Develop new mechanical concepts and prototypes.</li><li>Work with Manufacturing shop, Planning, Sales &amp; Marketing, and Engineering Management to determine the feasibility of designs</li><li>Conduct feasibility studies for new product designs.</li><li>Research technology advancements and competitor products.</li><li>Identify technical challenges and develop innovative solutions.</li><li>Create detailed CAD models and run FEA simulations using SolidWorks.</li><li>Build and oversee the development of physical prototypes.</li><li>Develop testing protocols, execute tests, and analyze results.</li><li>3D print parts</li><li>Machining parts using lathe or mill machinery</li><li>Participate in design review sessions</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in mechanical engineering.</li><li>2 &ndash; 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering.</li><li>Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.</li><li>Understanding of manufacturing practices and process.</li><li>Knowledge of materials (metals, plastics)</li><li>Familiar with ASME standards (Y14.5), GD&amp;T is a plus, but not required.</li><li>Demonstrate ability to manage and balance multiple projects / assignments and prioritize as required.</li><li>SolidWorks proficient</li><li>Basic knowledge of AutoCAD 2D</li><li>Proficient using Microsoft Office</li><li>Mechanically inclined person</li><li>Ability to Multitask</li><li>Good team player</li><li>Excellent communication skills</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: From $80,000.00 per yearWork Location: In person
