This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, friendly setting dedicated to improving oral health.Duties<ul><li>Assist dentists with a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient chairside support.</li><li>Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for patient appointments.</li><li>Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray imaging), ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.</li><li>Manage medical documentation and records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, accurately recording treatment details and patient information.</li><li>Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, especially in pediatric dentistry cases.</li><li>Maintain infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and knowledge of anatomy to prevent cross-contamination.</li><li>Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical coding for billing purposes.</li><li>Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and other medical imaging devices to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.</li><li>Uphold HIPAA compliance by safeguarding patient information and ensuring confidentiality at all times.</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.</li><li>Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics environments.</li><li>Skilled in taking X-ray images with attention to safety protocols for both patients and staff.</li><li>Knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile clinical environment.</li><li>Ability to perform vital signs assessments and assist with medical imaging procedures confidently.</li><li>Familiarity with dental assisting best practices such as four-handed dentistry for improved efficiency during procedures.</li><li>Experience working with medical records management systems like Epic or similar platforms is a plus.</li><li>Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists.
