Job Requisition: Product Designer (UX &amp; UI)Location: In office (Shelton, CT / Charlotte, NC / San Antonio, TX)Department: Product Reports To: VP of ProductOverviewExtra Duty Solutions (EDS) is the leader in off-duty detail management for law enforcement agencies and municipalities. We are currently modernizing and unifying our software platforms to deliver a cohesive, intuitive experience for our customers.As part of a cross-functional team, you will help discover and design solutions that are valuable, usable, and feasible. You&rsquo;ll engage directly with our customers to deeply understand their needs, rapidly prototype new ideas, and validate concepts before they are built. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the EDS design system and ensuring that every user experience delivers clarity, efficiency, and trust.Key ResponsibilitiesUser Discovery &amp; Continuous Learning&middot; Collaborate with the Product Manager and Engineering Lead in continuous discovery to identify customer problems and opportunities.&middot; Conduct user interviews, usability tests, and prototype evaluations to reduce risk across value, usability, and feasibility.&middot; Translate insights into design hypotheses and measurable product outcomes.&middot; Continuously refine designs based on learning, data, and evolving business needs.&middot; Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards and support agency compliance requirements.Design &amp; Prototyping&middot; Create low and high-fidelity prototypes as learning and communication tools throughout discovery and delivery.&middot; Develop intuitive, efficient workflows that streamline complex scheduling and financial processes.&middot; Contribute to and evolve a scalable EDS design system as a living product asset.&middot; Partner with front-end engineers to maintain alignment between design intent and implementation.Cross-Functional Collaboration&middot; Operate as a core member of an empowered product team, sharing accountability for customer and business outcomes.&middot; Work closely with Product and Engineering peers to define problems, explore solutions, and evaluate impact.&middot; Present design rationale and discovery learnings to stakeholders and executive leadership.&middot; Champion user advocacy and evidence-based decision-making across teams.Qualifications&middot; Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field (or equivalent work experience).&middot; 3&ndash;5 years of product design experience with SaaS or workflow-heavy applications.&middot; Proficiency in Figma and other industry-standard design tools.&middot; Deep understanding of responsive and cross-platform design (desktop and mobile).&middot; Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, React) to collaborate effectively with engineers.&middot; Demonstrated experience in discovery-driven product teams and iterative design.&middot; Strong portfolio that highlights problem-solving in complex applications.Core Competencies&middot; Empathy for end-users, especially those serving in public safety roles.&middot; Curiosity and drive to uncover customer pain points and test new ideas.&middot; Excellent communication and storytelling skills.&middot; Ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical realities.&middot; Commitment to measurable outcomes and continuous learning.Why Join Us&middot; Opportunity to shape the future of public safety technology.&middot; Collaborative, mission-driven environment built on trust and empowerment.&middot; Competitive compensation and benefits.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>San Antonio, TX 78230 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
