Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant to join our team. This position is perfect for someone looking to apply their accounting expertise in a flexible, supportive environment that values growth and collaboration.Duties<ul><li>Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards.</li><li>Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.</li><li>Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and balance sheets with accuracy and attention to detail.</li><li>Perform journal entries, account analysis, and double-entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records.</li><li>Assist with month-end closing procedures, including ledger reconciliation and financial report writing.</li><li>Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and conducting internal reviews of financial data.</li><li>Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms to streamline processes and improve efficiency.</li><li>Conduct cash flow analysis, budgeting support, and financial forecasting to aid strategic decision-making.</li><li>Collaborate with team members on technical accounting issues such as securities law, estate law (wills &amp; trusts), or corporate finance matters when needed.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Proven experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or non-profit accounting environments.</li><li>Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial concepts, and regulatory reporting standards.</li><li>Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft or similar platforms; familiarity with Microsoft Excel is essential.</li><li>Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.</li><li>Solid understanding of debits &amp; credits, accrual accounting, and double-entry bookkeeping principles.</li><li>Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data for reporting purposes.</li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul>Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hourWork Location: Hybrid remote in Blacksburg, VA 24060
