Accountant - Part Time

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant to join our team. Duties

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and balance sheets with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Perform journal entries, account analysis, and double-entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures, including ledger reconciliation and financial report writing.
  • Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and conducting internal reviews of financial data.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Conduct cash flow analysis, budgeting support, and financial forecasting to aid strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with team members on technical accounting issues such as securities law, estate law (wills & trusts), or corporate finance matters when needed.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or non-profit accounting environments.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial concepts, and regulatory reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft or similar platforms; familiarity with Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
  • Solid understanding of debits & credits, accrual accounting, and double-entry bookkeeping principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data for reporting purposes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
