JOB PURPOSE: 
Responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care that transforms lives through excellent evidence-based practices to patients in a clinical setting. The role includes assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining medical records. The Registered Nurse works closely with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:1. Clinical Duties: 
Conducts initial and ongoing assessments of patient's health, including physical examinations, taking vital signs, and monitoring symptoms.
 Develops, implements, and updates individualized care plans based on patient assessments and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
 Administers medications and treatments as physicians prescribe and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions.
 Provides care for wounds, including cleaning, dressing, and monitoring for signs of infection.
 Assists physicians and other healthcare professionals during medical procedures and diagnostic tests.
 Educates patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and preventive measures.
 Observe and record patients' conditions, including changes in symptoms or behaviors, and report any significant changes to the medical team.
 Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.
 Conducts purposeful rounding for patients to ensure their needs are met, prevent complications, and improve overall care quality.

 Adhere to strict infection control standards, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and proper handling of hazardous materials.
 Participate in infection control surveillance and reporting to help prevent facility-acquired infection.
 Maintain the cleanliness of the patient items and equipment as per Fakeeh Care policies.
 Follow established protocols for different emergencies (e.g., codes, and RRT), ensuring patient safety and effective response.
 Innovate in patient care and implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
 
2. Administrative Duties: 
Maintains accurate and detailed patient care records, including observations, interventions, and responses.
 Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
 Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patient care is continuous and integrated.

 Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs and training for nursing staff within the hospital setting. This role focuses on enhancing the nursing staff's knowledge, skills, and competencies to improve patient care, ensure adherence to best practices, and support professional.Implements a comprehensive education program for his/her assigned units and clinics. Educational programs typically include, but are not limited to orientation, continuing education and in-services. Other services may include, but are not limited to process, performance and service-delivery consultation and contributions to the organization through ad-hoc or permanently established councils, committees and workgroups
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: 
Designs, develops, and updates educational programs and curricula based on current evidence-based practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational needs.
 Creates instructional materials, including presentations, handouts, and online resources, to support various learning styles and needs.
 Facilitates clinical training for FCMS students.
 Addresses a professional nursing practice gap i.e. change in standard of care, problem in practice or opportunity for improvement etc.
 Conducts training sessions, workshops, and seminars for nursing staff on clinical skills, patient care, new technologies, and organizational policies.
 Provides orientation and onboarding for new nurses, including respiratory protection program clinical and theoretical training, to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
 Manages the Lippincott competency specialty curriculum.
 Assesses the educational needs of nursing staff through surveys, interviews, and performance evaluations and formulate an annual academic calendar.
 Ensures that educational programs comply with state and federal regulations, ANCC-NCPD accreditation standards, SCFHS requirements, and hospital policies.
 Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, making improvements as needed.
 Offers hands-on clinical education and support, including simulation exercises and skills labs, to enhance practical competencies.

 Mentors and supports nursing staff in applying learned concepts and skills in clinical settings.
 Promotes and facilitates nursing research to advance knowledge and improve practice standards.

 Participates in nursing CME lectures, Courses, Workshops and Symposiums.

 The Charge Nurse plays a key role in balancing the demands of patient care with the management of the nursing team and unit operations, ensuring that both patient needs and staff performance are addressed effectively during the shift and performing all the duties of staff nurse when required.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:1. Clinical Oversight:

3. Emergency and Crisis Management: 
Leads the response to emergencies, including coordinating with emergency services and ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
 Addresses and resolves unexpected issues or complications during patient care or within the unit.

Supports staff training and continuing education to ensure that nursing staff remain current with best practices and new developments in healthcare. Supports and participates in continuous educational activities.

Manages and oversees medical supplies and equipment, ensuring that necessary resources are available and in good condition.
 Monitors and manages the unit’s budget, including controlling costs and ensuring efficient use of resources.
 
6. Leadership and Decision-Making: 
Provides leadership and support to the nursing team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
