Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant supports the CPA firms Client Accounting Services (CAS) practice by reviewing, maintaining, and improving the accounting records of business and high-income individual clients. This role operates in a remote environment and requires the ability to work independently while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting.The position involves reviewing accounting transactions coded by an offshore team, recording complex or non-routine journal entries, and maintaining accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online (QBO). The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring that financial statements are complete, supported by appropriate documentation, and delivered in a timely manner.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Statement Review and Close Process- Review monthly accounting transactions prepared by offshore bookkeeping teams for accuracy and completeness- Ensure proper classification of income, expenses, assets, and liabilities- Finalize monthly financial statements for client delivery- Identify discrepancies, missing transactions, or misclassifications and correct them as necessaryJournal Entries and Adjustments- Record and maintain journal entries including: Third-party payroll entries, Depreciation and amortization, Accruals and deferrals, Non-bank affecting transactions, Owner distributions and capital activity- Maintain supporting documentation for all adjusting entriesQuickBooks Online Management- Maintain and manage accounting records within QuickBooks Online- Attach supporting documentation directly to transactions when required- Import and export transactions, reports, and data within the QBO environment- Develop and maintain QBO rules, workflows, and automations to improve accounting efficiencyWorkpapers and Documentation- Create and maintain supporting workpapers to reconcile account balances- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules- Build schedules when information is incomplete or requires reconstruction from source documentsAccounting Methodologies- Maintain books under both cash and accrual accounting methods depending on client needs- Understand and apply accounting concepts unique to various industriesClient Accounting and Advisory Support- Prepare financial statements for business owners and high-income individuals- Assist with identifying financial trends or irregularities- Ensure accounting records support tax preparation and financial planningProcess Improvement and Operational Efficiency- Identify inefficiencies in accounting workflows and recommend improvements- Develop processes that improve close timelines and reporting accuracy- Collaborate with the CFO to improve client accounting procedures and deliverablesRequired Skills and Qualifications- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a CPA firm or public accounting environment- Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation and account reconciliations- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment- Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsTechnical Skills- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online- Experience importing and exporting reports and transactions within QBO- Ability to create efficient rules, workflows, and automation processes within QBO- Strong Excel skills for reconciliations and workpapers- Experience reviewing accounting work prepared by offshore or outsourced teams is preferredPreferred Qualifications- CPA license or CPA candidate preferred- Public accounting experience strongly preferred- Experience with small to mid-size business accounting- Familiarity with financial reporting for closely held businesses and high-income individualsSuccess in This RoleSuccessful candidates will demonstrate the ability to independently oversee client accounting records from transaction review through finalized financial statements, while ensuring supporting documentation, efficient workflows, and accurate reporting.Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Work from home</li></ul>Work Location: Remote

We value practical experience over credentials - tell us about the clients you have managed and the operations you have run.RequirementsMust Have:- 2-5 years of experience in accounting operations, bookkeeping firm operations, or client account management- Strong understanding of accounting/bookkeeping workflows and terminology- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - you will be the voice of the company to clients- Experience working with remote or offshore teams (India experience is a plus)- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero) and standard business tools (Google Workspace, Excel)- US-based with reliable internet and ability to work standard US business hoursNice to Have:- Experience in an outsourced accounting or BPO firm- Background in client success, account management, or operations management- Familiarity with industries we serve: restaurants, insurance, property management, CPA firms- Experience with project management tools (Asana, Monday.com, etc.)- Texas-based (preferred but not required for remote candidates)Client Onboarding- Lead the onboarding process for new clients - kickoff calls, documentation, system setup- Coordinate with India team managers to assign resources and establish workflows- Ensure smooth transition from sales handoff to active service delivery- Create and maintain onboarding checklists and process documentationOperations &amp; Coordination- Coordinate daily with India-based Operations Director and team managers- Monitor service delivery quality and flag issues before they reach clients- Track deliverables, deadlines, and client-specific requirements- Support the Founder with proposals, pricing, and contract administrationBilling &amp; Administration- Manage client invoicing, billing cycles, and payment follow-ups- Maintain client records, contracts, and service agreements- Handle basic administrative tasks for the US entity- Prepare client reports and operational summaries as neededThe RoleAs Client Operations Manager, you will be the primary communication bridge between our US clients and our India operations team. You will handle client onboarding, manage ongoing client relationships, oversee service delivery quality, and handle administrative operations including invoicing and billing.
