Job Overview The Marketing Intern plays a key role in supporting the marketing efforts of the Flint Children&rsquo;s Museum. Working closely with the Marketing Director, this position is responsible for organizing and executing marketing and communication strategies that promote the Museum&rsquo;s events, exhibits, and programs. The Marketing Intern will help manage the Museum&rsquo;s social media platforms, update digital listings, assist with the development of creative materials, and ensure that all communications are timely, accurate, and aligned with the Museum&rsquo;s mission. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, creative, and passionate about engaging the community through effective marketing initiativesResponsibilities Social Media and Marketing Coordination: <ul><li>Organize and schedule social media content across various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.), ensuring posts are timely, accurate, and engaging.</li><li>Post graphics and event details to community calendars, the Museum website, and assist with the printing and distribution of flyers.</li><li>Research local and digital marketing strategies, and compile data and ideas for marketing programs, events, or special promotions.</li></ul>Website and Digital Listings Management: <ul><li>Update business listings on platforms such as Google, Apple Maps, Pure Michigan, and others to ensure the Museum&rsquo;s information is accurate and up to date.</li><li>Monitor and respond to comments and messages on social media platforms, engaging with the public in a friendly, professional manner.</li></ul>Data Collection and Reporting: <ul><li>Collect data for quarterly marketing reports, measuring the effectiveness of various campaigns and marketing efforts.</li><li>Attend special programs and daily activities to collect photos, feedback, and other data that can inform marketing strategies.</li></ul>Donor and Grantor Recognition: <ul><li>Assist in managing donor recognition and ensuring that grantors and companies are acknowledged across platforms and in print or digital media.</li></ul>Administrative Support: <ul><li>Provide administrative support to the Marketing Director, including scheduling, organizing files, and assisting with marketing initiatives as needed.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>High school diploma or GED required; relevant coursework or pursuit of museum studies, facilities management, or a related field is preferred.</li><li>Must be a resident of the City of Flint. Grant Funded for youth between the ages of 16-24.</li><li>Familiarity with social media platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, and other relevant software is required. Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite and video/photo editing tools.</li><li>Digital photography and video editing skills.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently, keeping marketing materials and schedules on track.</li><li>A strong attention to detail to ensure that all materials are error-free, consistent, and timely.</li><li>Must be able to effectively communicate ideas and research to the Marketing Director and other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.</li><li>Ability to work independently, solve problems, and think critically without constant supervision.</li></ul>HOW TO APPLYPlease submit the following:<ul><li>Resume</li><li>Cover letter: Please address a project that required effective communication, any difficulties you encountered during execution, and how this experience changed the way you communicate with others.</li><li>One item of creative origin (e.g., graphic design, writing, artwork, etc.), with a summary of the item and its significance.
