Position SummaryMust have a valid drivers license -The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) plays a critical role in supporting clients through their recovery journey in a structured substance abuse treatment environment. BHTs ensure a safe, therapeutic, and supportive milieu, monitor client behavior, support clinical programming, and assist the treatment team in delivering high-quality care.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Supervise and monitor clients to ensure safety and compliance with facility rules, schedules, and treatment plans.</li><li>Conduct regular rounds and perform client headcounts per policy.</li><li>Document observations, client interactions, incidents, and progress accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic health record (EHR).</li><li>Support clients in daily living activities, including hygiene, chores, transportation, and medication line.</li><li>Facilitate or support therapeutic and recovery-oriented groups, community meetings, and recreational activities.</li><li>Conduct drug/alcohol screenings and property searches as required.</li><li>Intervene appropriately in crises, de-escalate situations, and follow emergency protocols.</li><li>Escort clients to appointments, activities, or off-site events as needed.</li><li>Maintain professional boundaries while building rapport with clients in a compassionate and supportive manner.</li><li>Communicate relevant information to clinical, medical, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated care.</li><li>Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and supervision as assigned.</li><li>Uphold all facility policies, state/federal regulations, and confidentiality standards (HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2).</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Education: High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework in psychology, social work, or a related field preferred.</li><li>Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or a residential setting preferred.</li><li>Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver&rsquo;s license and acceptable driving record; CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).</li><li>Skills:</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills</li><li>Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations</li><li>Detail-oriented with solid documentation skills</li><li>Team-oriented with a commitment to client-centered care</li></ul>Work Environment &amp; Physical Requirements<ul><li>Work is performed in a residential treatment environment with frequent client interaction.</li><li>Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, occasionally lift up to 25 lbs, and respond quickly in emergencies.</li><li>May involve evening, overnight, weekend, or holiday shifts.</li></ul>Core Competencies<ul><li>Empathy and compassion</li><li>Professionalism and reliability</li><li>Crisis intervention and de-escalation</li><li>Cultural competence and respect</li><li>Ethical judgment and discretion</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
