In this role, you will be responsible for assembling initial versions of video projects, transforming raw footage into coherent narratives that align with the director&rsquo;s vision. Your energetic approach and keen eye for storytelling will help shape compelling content ready for the fine-tuning process. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality productions, ensuring the foundation of every project is strong, polished, and impactful.Responsibilities<ul><li>Review and organize raw footage to identify key scenes and sequences that support the narrative.</li><li>Assemble rough cuts by selecting, trimming, and sequencing clips to create a cohesive storyline.</li><li>Collaborate closely with editors, directors, and producers to interpret project goals and implement feedback effectively.</li><li>Ensure continuity, pacing, and overall flow are maintained throughout the rough cut.</li><li>Incorporate basic sound editing and visual adjustments to enhance clarity and storytelling impact.</li><li>Maintain detailed logs of footage used, edits made, and version control for efficient workflow management.</li><li>Communicate clearly about project progress, challenges, and next steps to team members.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Proven experience in editing or film production, with a strong portfolio demonstrating editing skills.</li><li>Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.</li><li>Excellent proofreading and copy editing skills to ensure clarity and consistency in storytelling.</li><li>Ability to conduct fact checking and research to verify information within scripts or footage.</li><li>Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration across creative teams.</li><li>Experience with research, journalism principles, copywriting, proposal writing, or creative writing is highly desirable.</li><li>Familiarity with word processing tools and project management software to organize workflow efficiently.
