Responsibilities

• Review and organize raw footage to identify key scenes and sequences that support the narrative.
• Assemble rough cuts by selecting, trimming, and sequencing clips to create a cohesive storyline.
• Collaborate closely with editors, directors, and producers to interpret project goals and implement feedback effectively.
• Ensure continuity, pacing, and overall flow are maintained throughout the rough cut.
• Incorporate basic sound editing and visual adjustments to enhance clarity and storytelling impact.
• Maintain detailed logs of footage used, edits made, and version control for efficient workflow management.
• Communicate clearly about project progress, challenges, and next steps to team members.

Experience

• Proven experience in editing or film production, with a strong portfolio demonstrating editing skills.
• Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
• Excellent proofreading and copy editing skills to ensure clarity and consistency in storytelling.
• Ability to conduct fact checking and research to verify information within scripts or footage.
• Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration across creative teams.
• Experience with research, journalism principles, copywriting, proposal writing, or creative writing is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with word processing tools and project management software to organize workflow efficiently.
