The Application Engineer I is a key technical resource supporting early-stage engineering for the Industrial Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Microgrid group within Generac. This individual will provide technical support on the BESS and microgrid product lines, advising the sales team, dealers, and customers on solutions that drive standardization, efficiency, and reliability, while meeting the project technical requirements. The Jr. Application Engineer will support communication between the sales team and engineering/product/execution teams and collaborate with various stakeholders throughout the sales cycle involving customers, specifying engineers, distribution partners, internal/external resources, and vendors.
Minimum Qualifications:
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Engineering;</li><li>
0-1 years&rsquo; experience working in an Engineering role;</li><li>
Familiar with reviewing electrical diagrams and other technical documents with a solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical control system concepts;</li><li>
Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills</li><li>
High level of attention to detail</li><li>
Ability to travel up to 20%.</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>
Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree;</li><li>
Customer Service or Sales Support experience;</li><li>

Essential Duties:
50%: Support the BESS/Microgrid sales team prior to Purchase Order (PO) with early-stage technical requirements. This includes gathering field requirements from customers:<ul><li>
Listen, understand, and convey customer project requirements;</li><li>
Review electrical one-line diagrams, sequence of operations, and other technical specifications for BESS and microgrid projects. Recommend required design and functional changes needed to align with the product line and drive standardization.</li><li>
Flag and escalate non-standard design elements and feature requests for resolution with support from Application team.</li><li>
Leverage Xendee energy management modeling tool to recommend BESS size on projects based on customer inputs.</li><li>
Provide sales support by answering technical questions on calls, via email, etc.</li><li>
Collaborate with customer, salesperson, and other stakeholders to facilitate creating, documenting, and proposing Generac solutions</li></ul>
30%: Support the Technical Project Manager in guiding contracted projects through the project process from PO to commissioning when the system becomes operational:<ul><li>
After receiving a Purchase Order, review project details and ensure project requirements align with the scope of the solution sold. Flag misalignment in scope.</li><li>
Collaborate with customer, salesperson, project manager, factory, and other stakeholders to facilitate advancing the project process, identifying and resolving roadblocks preventing project progress.</li></ul>
20%: Support educating sales, dealers, and customers on products, arming them with the information required to incorporate them into their designs:<ul><li>
Attend and present at Lunch &amp; Learns, webinars, and meetings with sales team.</li><li>
Create technical documentation, including training material, ordering guides, application notes, etc.</li><li>
Provide demos of microgrid control and monitoring software.</li></ul>
Other Duties as assigned and the following: less than 10%<ul><li>
Perform technical/product training for salespeople, estimators, and engineers;</li><li>
Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users;</li><li>
Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>

Compensation: Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role when based in Fort Collins, Colorado is $78,200.00 - $100,00.00 USD Annual . This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate&rsquo;s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short- and long-term incentives.

Generac is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join our Advanced Manufacturing team at our Corporate HQ in Waukesha, WI!
 
 
In this role you will be responsible for design, implementation and successfully scale automated and semi- automated controls systems utilizing sound engineering principles and technologies.
Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Develop new and or improved processes through the application of theoretical and practical engineering</li><li>
Design and build out factory level, and line/machine level controls standards and specification for application by internal equipment development team and external partners
</li><li>Acts as the corporate SME for plant resources on control systems programing by architecting, writing and debug PLC ladder logic/IPC SW with an emphasis on generating code that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable and reusable. PLC code will interact with subsystems such as conveyors, robots, Manufacturing Execution System MES, machine vision, part tracking systems, and 3rd party equipment.</li><li>
Implement (ANSI/ RIA15.06/OSHA compliant) control reliable safety systems for safeguarding robots, gantries, conveyors, and other high volume manufacturing equipment</li><li>
Generate aesthetically simple HMI screens for complex machinery while providing sufficient feedback for troubleshooting</li><li>
Work with IT to connect manufacturing assets to enterprise network using established standards / guidelines</li><li>
Keeps abreast of all meaningful technical trends and developments and incorporates them in appropriate assignments</li><li>
Create request for Quotation/Proposal (RFQ/RFPs), Organize cross-functional reviews of the machine requirements, design, qualification and capability and engage machine suppliers for automated equipment design reviews and proposals</li><li>
Travel to the machine suppliers for equipment qualification, acceptance testing and support during build events</li><li>
Frequent travel to other Generac sites for support as needed. (Generally day trips)</li></ul>
Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline</li><li>
7+ years of experience with Rockwell Logix</li></ul> 
Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>
Expert-level experience in design, program, integration, and validation of controls in high volume automated process equipment for discrete manufacturing using Rockwell Logix and GE RXi platforms.</li><li>
Experience in designing controls hardware and OT infrastructures including a thorough understanding of Industrial Communication Protocols</li><li>
Experience in creating technical specifications for automated manufacturing equipment, machine qualification requirements, design of experiments and failure analysis</li><li>
Expertise in the design of machine safety circuits and programming of safety PLCs</li><li>
Expertise with software and SCADA platforms to support Industry 4.0 manufacturing projects: including Historians and OPC Servers.</li><li>
Experience with machine integration with common IoT platforms</li><li>
Experience with SQL and Python/Java would be a plus.</li><li>
Able to communicate effectively in a worldwide environment.</li><li>
Previous experience with SAP or equivalent ERP.</li><li>

The Firmware Engineer II is responsible for providing firmware for embedded controls systems used in new product development, new or enhancements to system features, and existing product firmware support where needed. This role will be specifically involved in helping the design and development of new controls or algorithms, and system testing both in the lab and on real products
This role is onsite in our Waukesha WI Headquarters office.
Major Responsibilities:<ul><li>
