We are seeking a skilled and CASA-certified Drone Pilot to join our aerial survey team and support a range of projects with high-quality drone data capture. About the Role As a Drone Pilot, you will be responsible for planning and conducting aerial surveys, inspections, and mapping using CASA-certified drones. You will capture accurate imagery and data to support utility locating, site mapping, and progress monitoring while ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and safety standards. Key Responsibilities <ul> <li>Operate CASA-certified drones for aerial photography, videography, and data collection </li> <li>Plan and execute flight missions according to project requirements and safety protocols </li> <li>Process and deliver high-quality orthomosaic images, 3D models, and survey data </li> <li>Ensure compliance with CASA regulations including REPL and REOC certifications </li> <li>Maintain drone equipment and keep flight logs up to date </li> <li>Liaise with site teams, clients, and regulatory bodies as needed </li> <li>Monitor weather and environmental conditions to ensure safe flight operations </li> </ul> Required Skills & Qualifications <ul> <li>Valid CASA Remote Pilot Licence (REPL) and Remote Operator's Certificate (REOC) </li> <li>Proven experience operating drones for commercial or industrial projects </li> <li>Strong understanding of drone technology, flight planning, and data processing software </li> <li>Excellent attention to detail and situational awareness </li> <li>Good communication and teamwork skills </li> <li>Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions </li> </ul> Highly Regarded (but not essential) <ul> <li>Experience with GIS and photogrammetry software (e.g., Pix4D, DroneDeploy) </li> <li>Experience working on construction, civil, or utility projects </li> <li>First Aid certification </li> </ul> What We Offer <ul> <li>Competitive salary + overtime + travel allowances </li> <li>Fully maintained work vehicle, tools, and uniform </li> <li>Opportunities for professional development and certification renewals </li> <li>A supportive, safety-focused work environment </li> <li>The chance to work on cutting-edge projects with a market leader </li> </ul> Join Geotrace and take flight with Australia's leading provider of underground locating and subsurface mapping services.
