Position Overview:
The Flat Glass Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the precise installation of residential and commercial flat glass, including windows, mirrors, shower doors, storefronts, and more. You&rsquo;ll also have the opportunity to contribute to business growth by identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Precisely measure and install glass, mirrors, doors, custom shower surrounds, and window hardware (including balances) for both new and replacement projects.</li><li>
Ensure the efficient use of materials and maintain a well-stocked service vehicle with all necessary tools and marketing collateral.</li><li>
Maintain company vehicles and equipment to ensure they are serviced, clean, and in good working condition.</li><li>
Communicate with team members throughout the day to ensure high levels of customer service and coordination of efforts.</li><li>
Support sales efforts by recommending additional products and services to customers.</li><li>
Apply field measuring techniques and accurately cut glass and mirrors to specified dimensions.</li><li>
Complete required forms using tablet and customer relationship management software (Service Titan or similar), including measures, estimates, and job tracking.</li><li>
Conduct site survey during initial customer visit to assess business efficacy of each job.</li><li>
Take on other responsibilities as needed, including cross-training in related roles.</li></ul>
Qualifications:<ul><li>
Minimum 3 years&rsquo; experience in glass measurement and installation required,, including the ability to cut glass.</li><li>
Experience in carpentry, construction, handyman services, or similar fields may be acceptable in place of glass-specific experience.</li><li>
Valid driver&rsquo;s license.</li><li>
Ability to measure dimensions and thickness accurately and use tools like tape measure, glass thickness meter, and laser level.</li><li>
Comfortable working with ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment for glass installation.</li><li>
No fear of heights when using ladders or lifts.</li><li>
Proficient in using tablet-based technology.</li><li>
Strong communication skills and a customer-service-focused attitude.</li><li>
Ability to safely transport service vehicles between job sites.</li><li>
Team player who wears uniform and treats customers, property, and other team members with respect.</li></ul>
Benefits:<ul><li>
Competitive pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour, depending on experience.</li><li>
Full-time schedule (30-40 hours per week) Monday to Friday.</li><li>
401(k) and paid time off.</li><li>
