Job Description: The Senior Clerk will support the Landing Elementary School and main office by handling and leading a variety of complex clerical responsibilities.Qualifications:<ul><li>*Must take and pass the relevant Glen Cove Civil Service examination when first offered and quality for placement on the &ldquo;List of Eligibles&rdquo; (A) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school Equivalency diploma and three years of clerical experience; OR Four years of clerical experience; OR (C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.</li><li>Ability to work independently and strong interpersonal skills; excellent organizational, computer and communication skills; experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word), Google Suite, a plus</li><li>Bilingual preferred</li><li>Fingerprinting clearance required</li></ul>Essential Duties (include, but are not limited to):<ul><li>Utilizes word processing, spreadsheet, database, and scheduling software to complete a variety of administrative tasks.</li><li>Reviews reports, accounts, and documents for accuracy and compliance with procedures.</li><li>May lead clerical operations of office and check work assignments of clerical staff.</li><li>Maintains files for students, employees, and departments; processes and organizes correspondence, forms, and reports.</li><li>Maintain complex office records, index and file documents and correspondence.</li><li>Prepares reports for state agencies and internal use.</li><li>Manages building systems and related student and inventory records.</li><li>Manages incoming communications and inquiries; answers phones, schedules appointments, and serves as liaison between the school and stakeholders.</li><li>Operates standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, etc.</li><li>Coordinate schedules for the building and various stakeholders.</li><li>Draft letters and reports; assists with processing personnel and administrative systems.</li><li>Communicates effectively and timely with staff and strictly adheres to timelines.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by the building principal or their designee.</li></ul>Location: Landing Elementary SchoolDeadline: June 1, 2026Effective: July 1, 2026Job Type: Full-timePay: From $50,631.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
