Base Salary: $50,631

Job Description: The Senior Clerk will support the Landing Elementary School and main office by handling and leading a variety of complex clerical responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • *Must take and pass the relevant Glen Cove Civil Service examination when first offered and quality for placement on the “List of Eligibles” (A) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school Equivalency diploma and three years of clerical experience; OR Four years of clerical experience; OR (C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
  • Ability to work independently and strong interpersonal skills; excellent organizational, computer and communication skills; experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word), Google Suite, a plus
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Fingerprinting clearance required

Essential Duties (include, but are not limited to):

  • Utilizes word processing, spreadsheet, database, and scheduling software to complete a variety of administrative tasks.
  • Reviews reports, accounts, and documents for accuracy and compliance with procedures.
  • May lead clerical operations of office and check work assignments of clerical staff.
  • Maintains files for students, employees, and departments; processes and organizes correspondence, forms, and reports.
  • Maintain complex office records, index and file documents and correspondence.
  • Prepares reports for state agencies and internal use.
  • Manages building systems and related student and inventory records.
  • Manages incoming communications and inquiries; answers phones, schedules appointments, and serves as liaison between the school and stakeholders.
  • Operates standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, etc.
  • Coordinate schedules for the building and various stakeholders.
  • Draft letters and reports; assists with processing personnel and administrative systems.
  • Communicates effectively and timely with staff and strictly adheres to timelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the building principal or their designee.
