Position Summary</b></p><p>
The Project Accountant supports Project Directors and Project Managers within an assigned operational POD by managing project financials, billing processes, compliance documentation, and accounts receivable activities throughout the project lifecycle.</p><p>
This role ensures accurate job setup, billing execution, cost tracking, and financial reporting in Acumatica while maintaining alignment with contractual requirements and company standards. The Project Accountant plays a critical role in supporting project profitability, maintaining financial accuracy, and ensuring healthy cash flow from contract execution through project closeout.<br>

<b>Responsibilities</b></p><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Project Billing &amp; Financial Administration</b></h3><ul><li>
Prepare and manage project billings including schedules of values (SOVs), invoice generation, lien waivers, and supporting documentation.</li><li>
Submit billing through customer portals and ensure compliance with contract and owner requirements.</li><li>
Coordinate billing revisions and documentation updates as project conditions evolve.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Job Setup &amp; System Integrity</b></h3><ul><li>
Set up new projects in Acumatica upon contract approval.</li><li>
Verify contract details between Salesforce, executed agreements, and internal documentation.</li><li>
Enter and maintain project budgets, billing terms, retention percentages, tax details, bonding information, and compliance documentation.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Project Cost Tracking, WIP Support &amp; Financial Reporting</b></h3><ul><li>
Maintain POD financial tracking tools including cost-to-complete (C2C) summaries.</li><li>
Support weekly Work-In-Progress (WIP) reporting and financial updates.</li><li>
Update Acumatica and internal trackers to ensure cost, billing, and budget accuracy.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Project Compliance &amp; Documentation</b></h3><ul><li>
Support change order execution and documentation management.</li><li>
Maintain required compliance documentation, lien waivers, and bonding information.</li><li>
Ensure project files meet contractual and customer documentation requirements.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Accounts Receivable &amp; Cash Flow Support</b></h3><ul><li>
Partner with Project Directors to monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables.</li><li>
Maintain AR communication and documentation.</li><li>
Assist with forecasting expected collections and supporting project cash flow.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Accounts Payable &amp; Vendor Coordination</b></h3><ul><li>
Process vendor payment requests aligned with project progress.</li><li>
Coordinate with Project Managers and Finance to ensure accurate and timely vendor payments.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Collaboration &amp; Operational Suppor</b><b>t</b></h3><ul><li>
Participate in contract reviews, WIP meetings, and recurring POD financial meetings.</li><li>
Collaborate closely with Project Directors, Project Managers, and Finance teams.</li><li>
Proactively identify financial risks, billing issues, or compliance concerns.</li><li>
Perform related duties within the scope of the role as needed to support business operations.</li></ul><p><b><br>
Skills and Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent required</li><li>
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred</li><li>
35 years of project accounting or construction accounting experience preferred</li><li>
Strong understanding of construction billing, schedules of values (SOVs), retention, and WIP reporting</li><li>
High attention to detail and financial accuracy</li><li>
Proficiency with accounting systems (Acumatica strongly preferred)</li><li>
Strong spreadsheet and financial tracking skills</li><li>
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously</li><li>
Clear written and verbal communication skills</li><li>
Ability to collaborate effectively with operations, finance, and project teams</li><li>
Ability to identify and escalate financial or compliance risks proactively</li></ul><p><b>
