This position offers a flexible schedule perfect for motivated individuals eager to contribute their medical billing skills in a collaborative environment.Responsibilities<ul><li>Review and assign appropriate CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD-9 and ICD-10 diagnosis codes, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications to medical procedures and diagnoses.</li><li>Prepare and submit accurate claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements.</li><li>Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection techniques, working diligently to resolve discrepancies.</li><li>Maintain detailed and organized medical records, including documentation of billing activities, coding details, and patient information.</li><li>Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure proper coding for maximum reimbursement.</li><li>Stay current with updates in medical coding standards, insurance policies, and billing regulations to ensure compliance.</li><li>Assist in resolving patient billing inquiries professionally while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Prior experience in a medical office setting with knowledge of medical terminology and medical records management.</li><li>Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems used for billing and documentation purposes.</li><li>Strong understanding of medical coding principles including CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG classifications, and ICD coding standards.</li><li>Experience with medical collection processes and resolving claim denials efficiently.</li><li>Familiarity with insurance policies, billing regulations, and compliance standards related to healthcare reimbursement.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail with the ability to review complex documentation accurately.</li><li>Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, providers, and insurance companies.
