Position:Gurley Fant, PA is seeking a highly qualified paralegal or legal assistant to join its construction, surety, and commercial litigation law practice in Sarasota, Florida.The firm is comprised of high-performing, creative, and dedicated lawyers. The position will provide opportunities for rapid professional development and experience, working directly with senior members of the firm. The ideal candidate would be willing to cross-train as a paralegal.Candidates should have a desire to participate in and add value to all phases of litigation matters. Qualified candidates will have experience in assisting with client communication, discovery, and court hearings and filings.Qualifications:Candidates should have an undergraduate degree and/or 2-4 years of experience and training in a similar role. The following qualifications are highly desirable:<ul><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;</li><li>Excellent communication skills - verbal and written;</li><li>Able to prioritize and multitask;</li><li>Detail oriented;</li><li>Excellent organization;</li><li>Time management; and,</li><li>Proficient computer skills - Microsoft 365.</li></ul>Responsibilities<ul><li>E-filing documents;</li><li>Communicating with current and potential clients via phone and email in a timely manner;</li><li>Accurately relaying messages;</li><li>Scheduling appointments/meetings/deadlines;</li><li>Maintaining and organizing client files;</li><li>Administrative support;</li><li>Obtaining online court documents;</li><li>Maintaining accurate and detailed records;</li><li>Assisting with document preparation;</li><li>Effective proofreading and drafting;</li><li>Utilizing our case management system (Clio);</li><li>Tracking and following up on communication; and,</li><li>Supporting and assist attorneys as needed.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Health savings account</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Microsoft Office: 1 year (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Sarasota, FL 34236 (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Relocate:<ul><li>Sarasota, FL 34236: Relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
