Licensed throughout the Washington DC Metro region, HGD continues to expand its capacity while maintaining the responsiveness and accountability of a focused, high-performance team.HGD is seeking a strategic and detail-driven leader who lives in the Washington DC Metro area to join our team as a Design Manager, leading multidisciplinary projects and ensuring seamless coordination from concept through delivery.Major DutiesThe incumbent serves as a Design Manager under the Principal Engineer providing support for various design projects, to include residential and commercial facilities.Responsibilities include:Project Planning &amp; Scope Management &ndash; 30%<ul><li>Conduct site visits and site surveys</li><li>Work with Principal Engineer to determine requirements and prepare concept plans for each engineering discipline</li><li>Coordinate project design teams comprised of partnering firms and/or engineering consultants</li></ul>Scheduling &amp; Progress Management&ndash; 30%<ul><li>Assign timelines to the design team and track design progress</li><li>Track overall project timeline and ensure strict adherence to project schedule</li><li>Mitigate/minimize design schedule and overall project schedule conflicts</li><li>Lead weekly project meetings with HGD Executive Team</li></ul>Design Coordination &amp; Team Management&ndash; 30%<ul><li>Ensure design complies with HGD quality control checklists</li><li>Facilitate design team responses to construction RFI submittals</li><li>Facilitate design team responses to County Review comments</li><li>Coordinate project kickoff meetings with the design team and client meetings as needed</li></ul>Client &amp; Stakeholder Communication &ndash; 5%<ul><li>Coordinate client correspondence and provide weekly status updates to the client</li></ul>Permitting &amp; Regulatory Coordination &ndash; 5%<ul><li>Consolidate permitting plans and submit to County for review</li><li>Track and Consolidate responses to County Review comments</li></ul>Qualifications and Required Skills<ul><li>Extensive knowledge of the architectural and engineering design process for vertical structures</li><li>Must have access to AutoCAD or AutoCAD compatible tools</li><li>Moderate to high experience with making interdependent strategic decisions</li><li>Excellent organizational skills</li><li>Ability to address complex issues</li><li>Fully accessible within work hours during project duration</li><li>Must live in the Washington DC Metro area</li><li>Able to work in a remote environment effectively</li><li>Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Architect or Facility Engineering: 5 years (Required)</li><li>Project Management within the AEC industry: 3 years (Required)</li><li>Construction: 1 year (Required)</li><li>Drafting with AutoCAD/Revit: 2 years (Required)</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Architecture or STEM related Degree (Required)</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>Preferred EIT, AIA, PE, or PMP Certification</li></ul>Job Types: Part-time, ContractPay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Flexible schedule</li></ul>Application Question(s):<ul><li>Do you live in the Washington DC Metro area?</li><li>Do you have at least 3 years of project management experience in the Architecture Engineering and Construction industry?</li><li>Do you have access to AutoCAD or AutoCAD compatible tools?</li><li>Are you fully accessible within business hours during project duration?</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor's (Required)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Project management: 3 years (Required)</li><li>Construction: 1 year (Required)</li><li>Drafting: 2 years (Required)</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>Engineer in Training (Preferred)</li><li>Professional Engineer (Preferred)</li><li>Architecture License (Preferred)</li><li>PMP (Preferred)</li></ul>Work Location: Remote
