This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your career in a fast-paced medical environment.Duties<ul><li>Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service at the front desk</li><li>Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks</li><li>Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and HIPAA compliance requirements</li><li>Collect payments and perform medical collections when necessary, ensuring accurate documentation of transactions</li><li>Manage phone calls using multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and timely responses</li><li>Maintain and organize medical records, ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards</li><li>Review documentation for accuracy, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and care plans to support billing processes</li><li>Assist with intake procedures, patient check-in/out processes, and appointment confirmations</li><li>Support medical administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and updating patient information in EMR/EHR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft</li><li>Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless clinic operations and effective communication</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures</li><li>Experience with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly preferred</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills for efficient data entry (including 10 key typing)</li><li>Excellent patient service skills with a friendly demeanor and professional phone etiquette</li><li>Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and handle Medicaid or other insurance claims processes</li><li>Prior clinic or dental office experience is advantageous for understanding healthcare workflows but not required</li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management standards</li></ul>This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to make a positive impact on patient care while developing their expertise in medical office management.
