Job Summary:</b><br>
The Hoquiam School District is seeking a dedicated and student-focused In-Person Credit Recovery Teacher to deliver instructional support to students enrolled in online credit recovery programs. This teacher will support learners in a classroom setting, helping students stay on track, meet academic goals, and complete graduation requirements. This role plays a key part in ensuring Engaged Learners, fostering Meaningful Relationships, offering Adaptive Pathways, and promoting Community Connections throughout the summer session.</p><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Key Responsibilities:</b></h3><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Meaningful Relationships:</b></h4><ul><li>
Be present and accessible in-person daily to support students.</li><li>
Serve as a consistent and supportive adult for students navigating summer coursework.</li><li>
Collaborate with the registrar and administrative team to address student needs.</li></ul><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Engaged Learners:</b></h4><ul><li>
Monitor student engagement and provide direct instructional support as needed.</li><li>
Offer clarification, tutoring, and academic coaching to promote success in online courses.</li><li>
Track daily attendance and participation; communicate concerns promptly.</li></ul><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Adaptive Pathways:</b></h4><ul><li>
Support students in developing academic plans aligned with their goals</li><li>
Adjust teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs and styles.</li><li>
Guide students through course content and assessments, ensuring mastery and comprehension.</li></ul><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Community Connections:</b></h4><ul><li>
Maintain open communication with families regarding student progress.</li><li>
Support a positive classroom environment that fosters confidence and accountability.</li><li>
Respond promptly to questions or challenges related to coursework and expectations.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Qualifications:</b></h3><ul><li>
Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate required.</li><li>
Experience teaching or supporting students in credit recovery or online programs preferred.</li><li>
Must be available for all scheduled program dates (June 23 &ndash; July 3).</li><li>
Ability to manage a blended classroom environment with students working at various levels.</li><li>
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Regular and consistent attendance is essential.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Working Conditions:</b></h3><ul><li>
Supervise students in a classroom setting, assisting them one-on-one and in small groups.</li><li>
Sit, stand, and walk frequently to provide support and instruction.</li><li>
Use physical movement (e.g., bending, squatting) to interact with students at their level.</li><li>
Must be able to lift materials weighing 0&ndash;10 pounds regularly, and up to 25 pounds occasionally.</li><li>
Ability to operate classroom technology, including computers and online learning systems.</li><li>
Must possess strong reading, writing, and math skills to support students across subjects.</li></ul><p><b>
Salary: </b>Per CBA</p><p></p><p><br>
Employment is contingent upon successful clearance of a Washington State Patrol, FBI fingerprint criminal history background check, and Sexual Misconduct background check.</p><p><i>
