Hostos Community College Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Pharmacy Technician Instructor to educate and train students in pharmacy technician programs. The instructor will be responsible for delivering curriculum, providing hands-on training, and preparing students for certification and careers in pharmacy settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy operations, excellent teaching abilities, and a passion for student success.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with program objectives and industry standards.</li><li>Teach and demonstrate pharmacy procedures, including prescription processing, medication safety, dosage calculations, and inventory management.</li><li>Prepare students for certification exams (e.g., PTCB or ExCPT) and provide guidance on exam preparation.</li><li>Assess student performance through assignments, quizzes, exams, and practical evaluations.</li><li>Provide individualized support and mentorship to students to enhance learning outcomes.</li><li>Maintain accurate student records, grades, and attendance in accordance with institutional policies.</li><li>Collaborate with colleagues and program administrators to continuously improve curriculum and instructional methods.</li><li>Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards.</li><li>Facilitate externship placements and coordinate with pharmacy partners when applicable.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with active certification (PTCB or ExCPT).</li><li>Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a pharmacy technician in retail, hospital, or other pharmacy settings.</li><li>Prior teaching or training experience preferred but not required.</li><li>Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Proficiency in pharmacy software, prescription processing, and pharmaceutical calculations.</li><li>Ability to inspire and motivate students to succeed in their education and careers.</li><li>Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional best practices.</li><li>Associate degree or higher in a related field preferred.</li></ul>Work Environment:<ul><li>Classroom and lab setting with hands-on training opportunities.</li><li>May require occasional travel for professional development or externship coordination.</li><li>Flexible schedule, including evening or weekend classes, may be required.</li></ul>Job Types: Part-time, ContractPay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hourAbility to Commute:<ul><li>Bronx, NY 10451 (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Relocate:<ul><li>Bronx, NY 10451: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Bronx, NY 10451
