Medical Front Desk Clerk &ndash; Job DescriptionA Medical Front Desk Clerk is responsible for managing the administrative and patient-facing operations of a healthcare facility. They serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and professional experience while supporting clinical staff with scheduling and records management.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner</li><li>Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments</li><li>Verify patient information, insurance details, and medical history</li><li>Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately</li><li>Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR)</li><li>Collect co-pays, process payments, and handle billing inquiries</li><li>Ensure patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations</li><li>Coordinate with medical staff to manage patient flow</li><li>Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and documentation</li></ul>Required Skills &amp; Qualifications<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred)</li><li>Previous experience in a medical office or customer service role</li><li>Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes</li><li>Proficiency with office software and EMR systems</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities</li><li>Attention to detail and accuracy</li><li>Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially</li></ul>Work Environment<ul><li>Hospitals, clinics, private practices, or specialty medical offices</li><li>Fast-paced environment with frequent patient interaction</li><li>May require standing for extended periods</li></ul>Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
