Job Title: Part-Time City Treasurer / Finance &amp; Tax Administrator Location: Hurstbourne Acres, KY Job Type: Part-TimeJob SummaryThe City of Hurstbourne Acres is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented professional to serve as a Part-Time City Treasurer / Finance &amp; Tax Administrator. This role is responsible for managing all financial operations of the City, including accounting, payroll, tax administration, and financial reporting.This position supports a small municipality of approximately 200 households and 80+ businesses and works closely with the City Commission and Police Department.ResponsibilitiesAccounting &amp; Financial Management<ul><li>Maintain general ledger and accurate financial records</li><li>Perform monthly bank reconciliations</li><li>Manage accounts payable and receivable</li><li>Prepare monthly and annual financial reports</li><li>Assist with annual budget preparation and tracking</li></ul>Payroll<ul><li>Process payroll for police officers and city officials</li><li>Handle payroll tax filings and compliance</li><li>Prepare W-2s and year-end reporting</li></ul>Tax Administration<ul><li>Manage occupational license taxes and property taxes</li><li>Issue tax bills and track payments</li><li>Follow up on delinquent accounts, penalties, and collections</li><li>Maintain organized and accurate tax records</li></ul>Compliance &amp; Oversight<ul><li>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations</li><li>Prepare records and documentation for annual audit</li><li>Maintain internal controls and financial safeguards</li></ul>Administrative Support<ul><li>Assist with financial reporting for City Commission meetings</li><li>Respond to financial inquiries from officials and residents</li><li>Maintain organized records and documentation</li></ul>QualificationsRequired:<ul><li>Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance</li><li>Experience processing payroll and handling tax reporting</li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software</li></ul>Preferred:<ul><li>Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field</li><li>Experience with municipal or government accounting</li><li>Familiarity with occupational license taxes or property tax systems</li><li>CPA or equivalent experience</li></ul>Pay &amp; Schedule<ul><li>Pay: Starting at $700/month (based on experience)</li></ul>Benefits<ul><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Opportunity to serve and support the local community</li></ul>Work Location<ul><li>Remote and In-person during monthly meetings (2nd Thursday of the month at 6:30pm)</li></ul>How to ApplyApply through Indeed or submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience.Supplemental Pay Types (if applicable):<ul><li>Bonus opportunities may be considered based on performance and workload</li></ul>Equal Opportunity Employer The City of Hurstbourne Acres is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment for all employees.Pay: From $8,400.00 per yearWork Location: In person
