Come join our team at Immanuel Christian Children's Center!We are looking for a qualified Preschool Teacher to lead one of our 3-4 year-old classrooms.Job DutiesA Lead Teacher's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:<ul><li>Build a close, caring, respectful relationship with each child and each child&rsquo;s family.</li><li>Communicate with parents, caregiver&rsquo;s and/or guardians daily.</li><li>Design and maintain a classroom environment that is engaging and appropriate for the children, rotating materials as needed to maintain interest</li><li>Knowledge using the Creative Curriculum and use it to plan and implement lessons and activities that are developmentally appropriate</li><li>Use ICCC approved Christian education curriculum and include daily devotion and prayers in the daily schedule</li><li>Complete and record weekly observations of each children, recording their progress in Teaching Strategies Gold.</li><li>Requires that one be able to move and carry furniture, lift, carry and manipulate up to 30 lbs</li><li>Provide for the health and ensure the safety of young children, by knowing the whereabouts of children at all times.</li><li>Develop a daily routine that meets the individual child&rsquo;s need for rest, nutrition, quiet and active play, both indoors and outdoors through each day.</li><li>Requires that one be able to play comfortably sitting on the floor or in child-size chairs, holding a child on one&rsquo;s lap, and playing outdoors for long lengths of time in both hot and cold weather.</li><li>Plan, implement, and assess developmentally appropriate activities throughout each day that promote the physical, social, emotional, language and intellectual development of young children.</li><li>Confer regularly with all parents, caregivers or guardians to assess each child&rsquo;s needs and evaluate his/her progress.</li><li>Make necessary adaptations and accommodations in the environment and daily routine to best meet the needs of children with special needs.</li><li>Evaluate children&rsquo;s progress regularly with co-teachers and caregivers in the classroom, consult with Director or Assistant Director as needed.</li><li>Offer an opportunity for a Family-Teacher conference a twice a year</li><li>Participate in Immanuel Christian Children&rsquo;s Center special events and activities as scheduled.</li><li>Maintain confidentiality of all families and children, except in cases where mandated by law to violate.</li><li>Promote a positive and friendly atmosphere to all children and their families, caregivers or guardians. (i.e. extend warm welcomes, introducing yourself, using eye contact, addressing people by their names without showing favoritism/dislike to child, co-worker, parent, caregiver or guardian); seek to understand and accept all families and their individual life styles, parenting choices and situations</li><li>Be knowledgeable of and carry out Immanuel Christian Children&rsquo;s Center policies and goals.</li><li>Train, mentor and supervise students, volunteers and caregivers working in the classroom with children, assisting them in setting goals for themselves.</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>Must have one of the following:</li><li>Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate</li><li>Associate&rsquo;s Degree in Early Childhood Education</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Early Childhood Education</li><li>Prefer at least one year of experience in a child care setting</li><li>Must be eighteen years of age or older</li><li>Must be mentally, physically, and emotionally able to provide adequate care and education for young children</li><li>Must have a warm and friendly personality</li><li>Must be able to relate well to children</li><li>Must be willing to fulfill the responsibilities of the job in accordance with the program philosophy of Immanuel Christian Children&rsquo;s Center</li><li>Must pass Child Abuse &amp; Neglect and Criminal History Background Checks</li><li>Must be First Aid and CPR trained (ICCC will provide in-house training opportunities to meet this requirement)</li></ul>The Immanuel Christian Children Center is open 6:30am to 6pm Monday - Friday. This position would have a work schedule during that time working 40 hours per week with benefits.
