Our client is building a hands-on <b>SAP S/4HANA data and integration</b> capability to support public-sector transition programs that retire legacy, flat-file interfaces in favor of modern SAP S/4HANA APIs, data services, and Okta-based identity. You will be the engineer who reads SAP S/4HANA data structures, maps legacy data to them, and helps agency and delivery teams stand up secure, modern integrations &mdash; working alongside client and SAP technical leads. This role directly addresses the data-mapping, API/integration, and reporting workstreams at the heart of Commonwealth SAP modernization work.</div><div></div><div><p><b><br>
WHAT YOU'LL DO</b></p></div><p></p><ul><li><br>
 <b>Data mapping &amp; transformation analysis &mdash; </b>compare legacy source fields against SAP S/4HANA data structures (tables, CDS views, data dictionary); identify gaps, misalignments, and required transformations; produce field-level mapping workbooks, data dictionaries, and IRIS-to-SAP-style crosswalks.</li><li><br>
 <b>API &amp; integration design &mdash; </b>design, configure, and validate integrations against SAP S/4HANA APIs (OData/REST), SAP BTP / Integration Suite, and SAP data lake / Datasphere; support the move from flat-file patterns to modern, secure API-based solutions, including data-contract validation and environment readiness.</li><li><br>
 <b>Hands-on troubleshooting &mdash; </b>review and resolve end-to-end integration workflows with agency developers and SAP/IESO technical leads; support alternative patterns (e.g., middleware) where systems cannot yet consume APIs.</li><li><br>
 <b>Identity / provisioning support (Okta) &mdash; </b>support user-provisioning transitions to Okta &mdash; HR-attribute mapping, SCIM/provisioning logic, and group rules &mdash; sourcing employee identity data from SAP. (Strongly preferred; see qualifications.)</li><li><br>
 <b>Documentation &amp; enablement &mdash; </b>produce API set-up guides, example payloads, technical walkthroughs, data validation checklists, and integration-readiness templates that let agency teams self-serve.</li><li><br>
 <b>Testing, cutover &amp; hypercare &mdash; </b>support test planning, data-continuity validation, cutover readiness, and post-go-live stabilization.</li></ul><div></div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
Requirements</b></h3><div><p><b>
WHAT YOU BRING (REQUIRED)</b></p></div><p></p><ul><li><br>
 <b>5+ years</b> of hands-on SAP integration/data engineering, including demonstrable, project-based SAP S/4HANA experience (not functional-config only).</li><li><br>
 <b>SAP S/4HANA data structures &mdash; </b>working fluency with the S/4HANA data dictionary, tables, and CDS views, and consuming S/4HANA OData/REST APIs.</li><li><br>
 <b>SAP integration &amp; data platforms &mdash; </b>hands-on with one or more of: SAP BTP / SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration), SAP Datasphere / SAP data lake, SLT / data replication.</li><li><br>
 <b>Data mapping &amp; API integration &mdash; </b>field-level source-to-target mapping, transformation logic, REST/OData, OpenAPI/Swagger, and secure integration patterns (OAuth2 / mTLS).</li><li><br>
 <b>U.S.-based </b>and able to attend onsite, in-person meetings in Harrisburg, PA when requested (all work performed within the United States).</li></ul><div></div><div><p><b><br>
STRONGLY PREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE</b></p></div><p></p><ul><li><br>
 <b>Okta (identity/provisioning) &mdash; </b>hands-on Okta provisioning, SCIM, lifecycle management, and attribute mapping. A candidate who covers BOTH SAP S/4HANA integration and Okta is ideal.</li><li><br>
 <b>SAP HCM / SuccessFactors &mdash; </b>experience with SAP HR/employee-data structures (the source data in these transitions is HR data).</li><li><br>
 <b>Public-sector delivery &mdash; </b>state or Commonwealth of Pennsylvania IT experience; comfort in multi-agency, governed, wave-based delivery environments.</li><li><br>
 <b>Clearance eligibility &mdash; </b>able to obtain and hold a U.S. Public Trust.</li></ul><div></div><div><p><b><br>
