Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to manage the day-to-day accounting functions for our construction/project-based business. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, completing month-end close, processing payroll, managing payables and receivables, and preparing financial and job costing reports. The ideal candidate has strong bookkeeping experience and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Maintain complete and accurate accounting records in accordance with standard bookkeeping practices</li><li>Perform monthly close, including reconciliations and financial review</li><li>Process payroll using the company payroll system, ensuring accuracy and compliance</li><li>Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections</li><li>Prepare monthly financial statements (P&amp;L, balance sheet, cash flow)</li><li>Assists with contract management and invoicing</li><li>Follows through with accounts payable and accounts receivable</li><li>Produce job costing and project financial reports</li><li>Track and manage inventory, materials, and related costs</li><li>Maintain organized documentation for audits, reporting, and internal review</li><li>Collaborate with management to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision-making</li><li>Utilize accounting and project-based software systems efficiently</li></ul>Required Skills &amp; Qualifications<ul><li>Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Construction Bookkeeper, or Accounting Specialist</li><li>Strong understanding of general accounting and bookkeeping principles</li><li>Experience completing month-end close</li><li>Payroll processing experience</li><li>Proficiency in Zoho Books or similar accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.)</li><li>Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)</li><li>Experience with project-based or construction accounting preferred</li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience with job costing and project financial tracking</li><li>Familiarity with accounting processes for construction or trade-based businesses</li><li>Experience working with inventory or materials management</li><li>Associate&rsquo;s or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)</li></ul>Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Work Location: In person
