Position Summary:
Responsible for preparation and operation of automatic feeder and maintaining trailing coater. In addition, will assist press operator in tandem press operations as assigned.
Job Duties:<ul><li>
Responsible for preparation of press feed section according to sheet size involved.</li><li>
Assists press operator in setting up press; installing press plate, setting dampeners and rollers, filling ink fountain, fountain solution (with correct ph &amp; conductivity) and other duties as assigned.</li><li>
Checks each load of plate, delivered by trucker, for correct size, job number and plate position plus general condition of plate before pushing into feeder.</li><li>
Lines load up for proper continuous feeding and adjusts double sheet ejector.</li><li>
Must be constantly alert, during run, for correct feeder operation to catch damaged sheets and prevent jams or passage to press which may damage blanket, press plates &amp; press cylinders.</li><li>
Responsible for inserting sheet holding forks near end of each load for continuous feeding operation between loads.</li><li>
Assists press operator, during run, in mixing inks, washing press plate and blanket, etc., and other duties as assigned.</li><li>
Responsible for complete press operation during temporary absence of press operator. This is done under supervision of press operator.</li><li>
Does miscellaneous oiling of press and feeder as directed. Responsible for washup of press during color changes, etc., and at end of day/shift/week.</li><li>
Maintains accurate day log card and order work copies with operation performed, sheet count, spoilage.</li><li>
May be occasionally required to hand pile sheets on feeder skid as assigned.</li><li>
Is responsible for setting up trailing coater and maintaining film weight, viscosity and coverage during run.</li><li>
Changes composition coating roller, when necessary. Is responsible for proper wash up of coating machine between material changes and at end of day/shift/week as to allow for easy start up.</li></ul>
Requirements:<ul><li>
Must be able to pass the Farnsworth Munsel 100 Hue Test.</li><li>
Must be able to use and read basic measuring equipment.</li><li>
Must be able to read and comprehend work order and layout specifications.</li><li>
Must have knowledge of coating materials</li><li>
High school diploma, GED equivalency, or vocational certificate required.</li><li>
Work with ports or material, which could weigh up to approximately 60 lbs.</li><li>
Position requires standing most of the time.</li></ul></div>

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for set-up and operation of waxing machine.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Responsible for waxing machine operation according to prepared schedule.</li><li>
Must maintain accurate job report and sheet count and change type of wax (summer or winter) as instructed by supervisor.</li><li>
Must prepare feeder, waxer, and automatic stacker to required sheet size and adjusts heat, air pressure, and spray controls for specified wax application.</li><li>
Runs trial sheets before starting operation and spot checks sheets for proper wax application, at all times, with no heavy &quot;spot&quot; deposits or skips.</li><li>
Operator must be constantly alert during run, to prevent damage to decoration or sheets. Must pull three (3) sheets per load for inspections per instructions.</li><li>
Responsible for placing completed loads from stacker onto conveyor, straps for trucker, and inserting correct load ticket.</li><li>
Responsible for checking waxer (spray nozzles, etc.) for fouling conditions (spitting, etc.) and maintains clean feed chains and sprockets.</li><li>
Responsible for cleaning as required during run.</li><li>
Responsible for proper cleaning of wax unit when required to assure proper operation and prevent hazardous wax build-up which could cause fire, etc.</li><li>
Occasionally performs miscellaneous department tasks other than primary functions, when need exists, as determined by supervisor.</li><li>
Keeps work area safe, orderly and free of obstruction.</li><li>
Position requires pushing, pulling or lifting heavy objects ranging up to approximately 60 lbs.</li><li>
Have proper hand tools for minor repairs/setup.</li><li>
Must run waxers up to standard operating rates and produce quality product.</li><li>
Operators may be responsible for running two waxing lines simultaneously.</li></ul>
EDUCATION, TRAINING &amp; EXPERIENCE:
Position requires one of the following:<ul><li>
A minimum of one (1) year high school</li><li>
GED equivalency</li><li>
Three (3) months experience is necessary to develop skills and knowledge to perform proficiently.</li></ul>
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>
Uses wax machine with automatic feeder and sheet stacker, strapping equipment, and miscellaneous small hand tools.</li><li>
Use of powered lift truck. Must pass J.L. Clark training.</li><li>
Scheduled overtime is required.</li></ul>
