Required Qualifications</b>:</div><ul><li>
State of Michigan secondary teaching certification required (grades 6-12) Spanish (FF): additional endorsements are a plus</li><li>
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills</li><li>
Commitment to educational excellence</li><li>
Curricular knowledge consistent with secondary education</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Preferred Qualifications</b>:</div><ul><li>
Successful teaching or student teaching experience at the secondary level</li><li>
Strong instructional technology experience (preferably within an LMS)</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Responsibilities</b>:</div><ul><li>
Report to the JIA campus daily from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm</li><li>
Participate in professional development for successful online and blended teaching &amp; learning</li><li>
Instruct secondary Spanish courses online within Blackboard (including additional courses as endorsed)</li><li>
Customize content for students as needed</li><li>
Communicate weekly with students, providing a supportive online teaching presence</li><li>
Host live instructional sessions for each course assigned</li><li>
Supervise in-person middle and high school learning center (LC) and tutoring sessions throughout the week, also hosting (in-person) and virtual activities/clubs</li><li>
Monitor student academic progress and engagement data</li><li>
Serve as a year-long academic advisor for an assigned group of students</li><li>
Proctor grade-level school-wide assessments</li><li>
Attend parent-teacher conferences</li><li>
Uphold all JIA Handbook expectations and policies</li></ul><div><b><br>
