Required Qualifications:
-
State of Michigan secondary teaching certification required (grades 6-12) Spanish (FF): additional endorsements are a plus
-
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
-
Commitment to educational excellence
-
Curricular knowledge consistent with secondary education
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Successful teaching or student teaching experience at the secondary level
-
Strong instructional technology experience (preferably within an LMS)
Responsibilities:
-
Report to the JIA campus daily from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm
-
Participate in professional development for successful online and blended teaching & learning
-
Instruct secondary Spanish courses online within Blackboard (including additional courses as endorsed)
-
Customize content for students as needed
-
Communicate weekly with students, providing a supportive online teaching presence
-
Host live instructional sessions for each course assigned
-
Supervise in-person middle and high school learning center (LC) and tutoring sessions throughout the week, also hosting (in-person) and virtual activities/clubs
-
Monitor student academic progress and engagement data
-
Serve as a year-long academic advisor for an assigned group of students
-
Proctor grade-level school-wide assessments
-
Attend parent-teacher conferences
-
Uphold all JIA Handbook expectations and policies
