Position: Lab Technician
Reports To: Production Manager
Worksite: The facility is in Houston, Texas (Houston Ship Channel Area). The company&rsquo;s headquarters is in Gretna, Louisiana. (The greater New Orleans area). 
 
Work Schedule:8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Some overtime may be required including weekends
Essential Duties:<ul><li>
Testing of all incoming raw materials and finished products; approval or rejecting of samples based on test specifications in a timely manner</li><li>
Cleaning of instruments and glassware
</li><li>Quality assurance checks alongside the production team</li><li>
Research and development with formulas via hand blends and correctional calculations</li><li>
Quality control analysis on a daily and monthly basis</li><li>
Thorough recordkeeping of data</li><li>
Replenishes lab chemicals and supplies daily; inventory management</li><li>
Sampling of raw materials and finished products as needed</li><li>
Prints labels for production use</li><li>
Ability to identify hazardous chemicals/products and general haz-class handling and storage knowledge</li><li>
Troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining instruments</li><li>
Ability to calculate and predict corrections on blend formulations
</li><li>Other duties that may be requested by Director, Supervisor or Executive Management as needed.</li><li>
Crosstrain for the performance of other duties at company's facility</li></ul>

Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office</li><li>
Experience in technical writing or communication practices in a laboratory setting
</li><li>Hands on experience with analytical chemistry testing</li><li>
Associates degree or higher related to science, or equivalent combination of education and experience</li><li>
Ability to perform mathematical computations and solve practical problems daily</li></ul></div>
