If you&rsquo;re passionate about local SEO, thrive in fast-paced environments, and have a knack for team coordination and communication, this role is for you.Position Overview: The SEO Strategist (Contractor) will oversee and manage the agency&rsquo;s GBP team, ensuring all client campaigns are optimized for maximum visibility, performance, and lead generation. This role requires deep expertise in search engine optimization (with a focus on local SEO), GBP listings, strong leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills.You will work full-time hours as an independent contractor, collaborating closely with our leadership team to enhance rankings, traffic, and client satisfaction across all managed accounts.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Lead and manage a team of GBP specialists handling multiple client profiles.</li><li>Oversee the setup, verification, and optimization of GBP listings across various industries.</li><li>Develop and implement strategies to improve local search visibility and ranking performance.</li><li>Monitor analytics, metrics, and performance reports to track progress and identify trends.</li><li>Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for SEO and GBP issues, including suspensions.</li><li>Ensure consistent posting schedules, engaging content creation, and accurate NAP data across all listings.</li><li>Train and mentor team members on GBP best practices and workflow improvements.</li><li>Maintain clear, proactive communication with internal teams and clients.</li><li>Stay current on GBP and local SEO algorithm updates to continuously improve results.</li><li>Collaborate with leadership on performance reporting, process optimization, and client strategy alignment.</li></ul>Required Skills &amp; Qualifications:<ul><li>U.S.-based candidate (required).</li><li>4+ years of hands-on experience managing SEO campaigns for local and/or national businesses.</li><li>2+ years of experience leading or supervising a digital marketing or SEO team.</li><li>Proven success in resolving GBP suspensions and implementing recovery strategies.</li><li>Deep understanding of local SEO ranking factors, GBP optimization, and citation management.</li><li>Experience using SEO and analytics tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Analytics, Search Console).</li><li>Strong understanding of Google Business Profile optimization and local ranking strategies.</li><li>Strong proficiency with SEMrush, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills (critical requirement).</li><li>Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.</li></ul>Performance Metrics (KPIs):<ul><li>Overall ranking improvement across GBP listings.</li><li>Lead generation growth (calls, website clicks, direction requests).</li><li>Team productivity and quality of output.</li><li>Client satisfaction and retention rates.</li></ul>Compensation &amp; Benefits:<ul><li>Competitive annual contractor rate: $65,000 &ndash; $90,000 USD, based on experience and performance.</li><li>Flexible remote work setup (U.S. only).</li><li>Opportunity to lead a growing GBP team in a high-impact role.</li><li>Potential for long-term engagement and performance-based bonuses.</li></ul>How to Apply To apply, please submit:<ul><li>Your updated resume highlighting relevant GBP experience.</li><li>A brief cover letter explaining your experience leading GBP or SEO teams.</li><li>(Optional) Examples or case studies of SEO or GBP listings you&rsquo;ve optimized or managed.</li></ul>Qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview and may be asked to complete a short skills assessment.Job Type: Full-timePay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per yearWork Location: Remote
