Position Overview:
The SEO Strategist (Contractor) will oversee and manage the agency’s GBP team, ensuring all client campaigns are optimized for maximum visibility, performance, and lead generation. This role requires deep expertise in search engine optimization (with a focus on local SEO), GBP listings, strong leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills.

You will work full-time hours as an independent contractor, collaborating closely with our leadership team to enhance rankings, traffic, and client satisfaction across all managed accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of GBP specialists handling multiple client profiles.
• Oversee the setup, verification, and optimization of GBP listings across various industries.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve local search visibility and ranking performance.
• Monitor analytics, metrics, and performance reports to track progress and identify trends.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for SEO and GBP issues, including suspensions.
• Ensure consistent posting schedules, engaging content creation, and accurate NAP data across all listings.
• Train and mentor team members on GBP best practices and workflow improvements.
• Maintain clear, proactive communication with internal teams and clients.
• Stay current on GBP and local SEO algorithm updates to continuously improve results.
• Collaborate with leadership on performance reporting, process optimization, and client strategy alignment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• U.S.-based candidate (required).
• 4+ years of hands-on experience managing SEO campaigns for local and/or national businesses.
• 2+ years of experience leading or supervising a digital marketing or SEO team.
• Proven success in resolving GBP suspensions and implementing recovery strategies.
• Deep understanding of local SEO ranking factors, GBP optimization, and citation management.
• Experience using SEO and analytics tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Analytics, Search Console).
• Strong understanding of Google Business Profile optimization and local ranking strategies.
• Strong proficiency with SEMrush, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (critical requirement).
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

Performance Metrics (KPIs):

• Overall ranking improvement across GBP listings.
• Lead generation growth (calls, website clicks, direction requests).
• Team productivity and quality of output.
• Client satisfaction and retention rates.

Compensation & Benefits:
