Job Description: Sourcing Engineer Trainee &ndash; Genset ManufacturingPosition OverviewThe Sourcing Engineer Trainee will support the sourcing and procurement team in identifying suppliers, collecting quotations, analyzing costs, and ensuring the availability of components used in genset manufacturing. This role is focused on learning, skill development, and supporting standard sourcing activities under supervision.Key Responsibilities1. Supplier &amp; Market Research<ul><li>Assist in identifying and researching potential suppliers for genset components such as engines, alternators, controllers, electrical parts, sheet metal parts, and fabrication items.</li><li>Support vendor onboarding activities (collect documents, certifications, company profiles).</li></ul>2. RFQ &amp; Quotation Management<ul><li>Prepare and send RFQs to approved and potential suppliers.</li><li>Collect and compare quotations to prepare basic cost comparison sheets.</li><li>Escalate discrepancies or unusual pricing to senior sourcing engineers.</li></ul>3. Coordination &amp; Follow-Up<ul><li>Follow up with suppliers for quotations, technical documents, and delivery commitments.</li><li>Coordinate with internal teams (Planning, Production, Engineering, Quality) for requirement clarity.</li></ul>4. Documentation &amp; Reporting<ul><li>Maintain records of RFQs, quotations, supplier data, and correspondence.</li><li>Support the preparation of procurement reports, vendor evaluation sheets, and sourcing trackers.</li></ul>5. Technical Learning<ul><li>Understand basic genset components and their specifications.</li><li>Learn to read engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical data sheets.</li><li>Participate in supplier visits and audits (training provided).</li></ul>6. Junior Purchase Engineer &ndash; Genset Manufacturing Position OverviewThe Junior Purchase Engineer will support the procurement team in sourcing, ordering, and coordinating materials and components required for genset (generator set) manufacturing. The role involves vendor coordination, basic negotiation, documentation, and ensuring timely supply of parts.Key Responsibilities Procurement Support<ul><li>Assist in collecting quotes and preparing comparison sheets for genset components.</li><li>Raise purchase orders (POs) as per project requirements.</li><li>Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.</li></ul>Vendor Coordination<ul><li>Communicate with approved vendors for pricing, delivery schedules, and technical clarifications.</li><li>Maintain a database of suppliers and support vendor evaluations.</li></ul>Material Management<ul><li>Coordinate with stores and planning departments for inventory updates.</li><li>Track order status and report material delays or shortages.</li></ul>Technical &amp; Documentation<ul><li>Understand basic technical specifications of genset parts like engines, alternators, controllers, panels, sheet metal, and electrical components.</li><li>Support engineering teams in gathering technical data and vendor documents.</li><li>Maintain organized records of POs, quotations, invoices, and delivery challans.</li></ul>Cost &amp; Quality Support<ul><li>Assist in cost analysis of components under supervision.</li><li>Work with the quality team to resolve material rejection issues.</li></ul>Required Qualifications Education<ul><li>Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering fields.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>0&ndash;2 years of experience in procurement or supply chain (preferably in genset, electrical, or manufacturing industry).</li><li>Freshers with good technical understanding may also apply.</li></ul>Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: &#8377;25,000.00 - &#8377;30,000.00 per monthBenefits:<ul><li>Food provided</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Provident Fund</li></ul>Work Location: In person
