Junior Purchase Engineer – Genset Manufacturing Position Overview

The Junior Purchase Engineer will support the procurement team in sourcing, ordering, and coordinating materials and components required for genset (generator set) manufacturing. The role involves vendor coordination, basic negotiation, documentation, and ensuring timely supply of parts.

Key Responsibilities Procurement Support

• Assist in collecting quotes and preparing comparison sheets for genset components.
• Raise purchase orders (POs) as per project requirements.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.

Vendor Coordination

• Communicate with approved vendors for pricing, delivery schedules, and technical clarifications.
• Maintain a database of suppliers and support vendor evaluations.

Material Management

• Coordinate with stores and planning departments for inventory updates.
• Track order status and report material delays or shortages.

Technical & Documentation

• Understand basic technical specifications of genset parts like engines, alternators, controllers, panels, sheet metal, and electrical components.
• Support engineering teams in gathering technical data and vendor documents.
• Maintain organized records of POs, quotations, invoices, and delivery challans.

Cost & Quality Support

• Assist in cost analysis of components under supervision.
• Work with the quality team to resolve material rejection issues.

Required Qualifications Education

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering fields.

Experience

• 0–2 years of experience in procurement or supply chain (preferably in genset, electrical, or manufacturing industry).
• Freshers with good technical understanding may also apply.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
