Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated private piano, guitar, bass, brass, and/or strings teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education and a love for teaching students of various ages. This role involves teaching students with a broad range of musical backgrounds and interests, fostering a positive learning environment, and inspiring students to develop their musical talents. The ideal candidate will meet students where they are and emphasize process over product to create a safe space for students to explore their musical goals.Responsibilities<ul><li>Develop and implement comprehensive music lesson plans tailored to the needs of students.</li><li>Teach various aspects of music, including theory, performance, and appreciation.</li><li>Manage student behavior effectively to create an inclusive and productive learning environment.</li><li>Organize and lead music-related activities, performances, and events.</li><li>Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.</li><li>Collaborate with colleagues in interdisciplinary projects that may include theater, dance, songwriting, etc.</li><li>Create an environment that fosters creativity and encourages student participation.</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Strong knowledge of musical technique on their instrument(s). We are specifically looking for guitar, piano, bass, strings, and brass teachers.</li><li>Behavioral management skills to maintain a focused and respectful learning environment.</li><li>Ability to educate students with diverse backgrounds and varying skill levels.</li><li>Experience in early childhood education is a plus for teaching younger students.</li><li>Group class experience a plus for potential future classes and camps.</li><li>Additional skills such as photography/videography, social media marketing, and studio administration are advantageous and can enhance the studio environment.</li></ul>Join us in nurturing the next generation of musicians while fostering a love for the arts!Job Type: ContractPay: $30.50 - $35.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Flexible schedule</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Associate (Preferred)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Teaching: 2 years (Preferred)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Cranford, NJ 07016 (Required)</li></ul>Willingness to travel:<ul><li>50% (Preferred)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
