Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated private piano, guitar, bass, brass, and/or strings teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education and a love for teaching students of various ages. This role involves teaching students with a broad range of musical backgrounds and interests, fostering a positive learning environment, and inspiring students to develop their musical talents. The ideal candidate will meet students where they are and emphasize process over product to create a safe space for students to explore their musical goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive music lesson plans tailored to the needs of students.
  • Teach various aspects of music, including theory, performance, and appreciation.
  • Manage student behavior effectively to create an inclusive and productive learning environment.
  • Organize and lead music-related activities, performances, and events.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in interdisciplinary projects that may include theater, dance, songwriting, etc.
  • Create an environment that fosters creativity and encourages student participation.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of musical technique on their instrument(s). We are specifically looking for guitar, piano, bass, strings, and brass teachers.
  • Behavioral management skills to maintain a focused and respectful learning environment.
  • Ability to educate students with diverse backgrounds and varying skill levels.
  • Experience in early childhood education is a plus for teaching younger students.
  • Group class experience a plus for potential future classes and camps.
  • Additional skills such as photography/videography, social media marketing, and studio administration are advantageous and can enhance the studio environment.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30.50 - $35.00 per hour
