Position Summary
The Human Resources Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll while providing extensive administrative support across core HR functions. This role plays a critical part in maintaining employee records, ensuring compliance with labor regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to manage a high volume of administrative HR tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Payroll &amp; Timekeeping<ul><li>
Process bi-weekly payroll for a multi-shift, overtime-heavy workforce.</li><li>
Review, audit, and reconcile timekeeping records for accuracy and completeness.</li><li>
Monitor employee timecards, PTO usage, attendance, and wage calculations.</li><li>
Research and resolve payroll discrepancies; process corrections as needed.</li><li>
Ensure payroll data is accurately entered and maintained within the HRIS/payroll system.</li><li>
Maintain payroll records in compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.</li><li>
Support payroll reporting, audits, and reconciliations using Excel.</li></ul>
HRIS &amp; Employee Records Administration<ul><li>
Maintain and update employee records within the HRIS system.</li><li>
Process employee status changes including new hires, promotions, transfers, pay changes, and terminations.</li><li>
Ensure personnel files are accurate, complete, and compliant with record retention requirements.</li><li>
Manage electronic employee files and confidential HR documentation.</li><li>
Generate HR and payroll reports using Excel and HRIS data.</li></ul>
Employee Engagement<ul><li>
Support internal communications related to HR programs and employee initiatives.</li><li>
Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and HR policies.</li><li>
Provide administrative support for HR projects, audits, and compliance activities.</li><li>
Support additional HR initiatives and special projects as assigned.</li></ul>
Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities<ul><li>
Minimum 2+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience.</li><li>
Strong HR administrative background with experience supporting multiple HR functions.</li><li>
At least 2 years of advanced Excel experience, including reconciliations, audits, and reporting.</li><li>
Working knowledge of HR principles, payroll practices</li><li>
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.</li><li>
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>
Proficiency with HRIS/payroll systems and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>
Ability to work on-site in an office environment within a manufacturing facility.</li><li>
Flexibility to support multiple shifts and payroll deadlines.</li></ul>
Education &amp; Experience<ul><li>
2&ndash;4 years of combined HR administration and payroll experience.</li><li>
2+ years of high-volume payroll processing (150&ndash;200+ employees preferred).</li><li>
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data audits, reporting, reconciliations).</li><li>
Experience supporting a multi-shift, overtime-heavy workforce strongly preferred.</li><li>
Familiarity with Paylocity or similar payroll systems is a plus.</li></ul></div>
